| English reading is a very important component of English language teaching process in Junior high school,so the way of teaching English reading is very important.English teachers should use appropriate teaching methods to improve students’ interests and grades in reading.Schema Theory is one of the important theories of modern reading and it is useful in solving existing problems.The application of schema theory to the teaching of English reading is proposed in this thesis in order to increase the attractiveness and improve students’ reading learning skills.Teachers use Schema Theory in reading teaching to help students to activate,establish and consolidate the knowledge of schema,which helps them overcome the difficulties encountered in reading and ultimately achieve the purpose of improving students’ English reading abilities.This study is to explore the application of Schema Theory to English reading teaching in junior high school and analyzes how to apply the theory to English reading teaching,so this thesis tries to answer the following questions:1.What impact does the application of Schema Theory have on the English reading interest and motivation of junior high school students?2.How does the application of Schema Theory contribute to improving the effectiveness of English reading comprehension among junior high school students?3.What are the challenges and benefits of applying Schema Theory to English reading teaching in junior high schools?The study is based on the Schema Theory,70 students of Junior High School are selected as the research participants who are regarded as the experimental class and the control class.Among them,the experimental class uses the schema theory to teach,and the control class uses the traditional method and the teaching experiment lasts four months.The main methods used in this study include questionnaires and experimental methods.Through questionnaires and interviews,the researcher investigates students’ cognition,attitude,motivation and interest in English reading and test their actual reading level.The main purpose of the test is to test the students’ reading ability before and after learning,and then the researcher draw a conclusion by analyzing,summarizing and collating the data.The results of this teaching experiment shows that the application of Schema Theory in English reading teaching can improve students’ interest and motivation in reading.At the same time,through the comparative analysis of the pre-test and post-test results of the two classes,the application of Schema Theory reading teaching in junior high school English reading class can improve students’ English reading ability and achievement.Through interviews with students and teachers,it can find out the challenges and advantages of applying Schema Theory to English reading teaching in junior high school.The author will continue to study and practice,use the Schema Theory effectively in English reading teaching and provide certain significance for junior high school English reading teaching. |
