A Report On Simulated Consecutive Interpreting Of The Documentary All Things (Excerpts)

All Things is a large-scale cultural program launched by China Central Radio and Television(CCTV).This documentary series focuses on the unique scenery and local specialties in China,showcasing the rich and diverse regional culture and the Chinese food culture.The program depicts a special and vivid Chinese landscape by lively telling the most representative stories of specialties on the land of China.The second episode Tofu and the fifth episode Silk of the documentary series have been selected as the source materials for this simulated consecutive interpretation practice.This report is mainly divided into four parts,including the background information of translation content,translation process,case analysis and conclusion.In this interpretation practice,the author clarifies the purpose of this practice and explores effective translation methods,such as free translation and shifting.This paper summarizes this practice,analyzes the translation methods of Chinese dish names,four-character words,proverbs and long sentences in the Chinese-English consecutive interpretation.In the whole process of the task,the author pays attention to the dissemination of cultural meaning and the understanding of cultural essence,aiming at transmitting information and serving the target audience.
