| Wuning County is located in northwest Gan,and the Wuning dialect belongs to a small subset of the Gan dialect,which has been considered a special case of the Gan dialect.Based on field surveys,this paper records the phonological system and dialectal prosody of the dialect spoken in Quankou Town,Wuning County,analyses its vocal-phonetic characteristics through a chronological comparison with Middle Archaic,and,in conjunction with existing studies,makes an internal comparison of the phonology of the various segments of the Gan language in Wuning County at the common time level,and compares it with Nanchang,the representative dialect of the Gan dialect,to present a systematic picture of the phonology of the Gan language in Wuning County.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is an introduction.It introduces the geographical location,history and administrative division of Wuning County,the types of Wuning dialect and their distribution,the overview of Wuning dialect and the current status of research,the sources of the corpus,the corpora and the research methods.Chapter 2 describes the phonological system of the dialect of Quankou Town,Wuning County.It records the vocal-rhyme tones of the dialect of Quankou Town,Wuning County,as well as the variation phenomena such as two-character groups of consecutive readings and small nominal variation,lists the different readings of the text and the white,and presents the vocal-rhyme-tone coordination relationship through the single-character phonetic table.The third chapter describes the phonetic characteristics of the dialect of Quankou Town,Wuning County.The phonological system of Wuning County Quankou Town is compared with that of the Middle Ages,and the evolution of the dialect of Wuning County Quankou Town from the Middle Ages to the present-day phonology is examined.There is a very light glottal stop consonant;there is a nasalized rhyme,no post-nasal;there is a vocalized rhyme;the yin goes to exist to send the air to split the tune;into the voice is divided into yin and yang,ancient secondary turbid into the voice of the character read Yin into,ancient all turbid into the voice of the character read Shu tone.And list the homophonic words based on the survey.Chapters 4 and 5 make internal and external comparisons of Wuning dialect phonology and depict the whole picture of Wuning dialect phonology respectively.By comparing the phonetics of the five wards of Gan in Wuning County(Central,Northeast,Southeast,Southwest and Northwest),the common features and internal differences of Gan phonetics in Wuning County are summarized in terms of vowel,rhyme and tone.The phonetic commonalities and phonetic differences are summarized by comparing the phonology of Wuning dialect with that of Nanchang dialect.Unlike the ancient full turbid vowels of Gan,which are generally pronounced with the sent-air clear tone today,the Wuning dialect,which is considered a special case of the Gan dialect,has the most distinctive phonological feature of the ancient full turbid vowels with the ancient full clear and sub-clear vowels preserving the Middle Archaic triadic opposition. |
