Cigarette cards entered the domestic market with paper cigarettes in 1885.It took nearly half a century from its rise to its decline,and finally withdrew from the historical stage around the 1940 s.During this period,countless cigarette cards were issued,and they were one of the important forms of advertising in modern China.Cigarette cards were all the rage in the first half of the 20 th century,and they were called the three major collections together with stamps and coins.The content of cigarette cards is mainly images,rich in content and exquisite in printing.It is a precious "picture history" and "picture evidence" in modern history,recording the design thinking,design culture and design aesthetics of modern China.Modern China is a special historical period,in the torrent of social transformation.The historical evolution of cigarette cards during this period provides a new perspective for the study of modern Chinese society.From the perspective of social development,this article first sorts out the historical process and influencing factors of the development of cigarette cards,divides them into three stages: introduction and input,rise and development,and decline and extinction,explores the historical characteristics behind each development stage,and then summarizes Secondly,from the perspective of design,use case analysis method and comparative analysis method to summarize the basic characteristics and design techniques of cigarette cards design,and then gain insight into the commercial value of cigarette cards design and its influence on contemporary commercial advertisements.Design inspiration;finally,from the perspective of business and culture,on the one hand,analyze the expression method of cigarette cards design on commodity communication and marketing.On the other hand,it analyzes the transformation of cigarette cards design under the dual influence of Chinese and Western cultures,and then explores the relationship between economy and culture,and brings new enlightenment to the development of the current cultural industry.Through the above analysis,this study first summarizes the commercial application and value presentation of cigarette cards design.First,the design of cigarette cards keeps pace with the times.Combining with the general environment of social development to select content,cigarette cards design is always closely connected with society and consumers.Second,the design of scigarette cards is inseparable from its lasting innovation power.Through the analysis of the form of expression,subject content and painting skills of the cigarette cards design,it is revealed that the cigarette cards has always maintained an open mind,constantly absorbing and absorbing new design ideas.Secondly,through the research on the artistic form and cultural communication of cigarette cards,cigarette cards are not only the product of commercial activities,but also the carrier of cultural communication and innovation.It integrates Chinese and Western culture,historical culture and national culture,forming a unique cultural atmosphere,which not only injects soul into commercial design,but also breaks through the barriers between culture and economy,achieving a win-win situation for both.With its excellent commercial marketing and advertising communication functions,the design ideas contained in the cigarette cards have a lot of inspiration and reference value for the research of contemporary design,bring different levels of thinking,and also find more opportunities for the innovation and development of traditional culture.Great potential,and provide feasible inspiration and directional guidance for the exploration of current design.
