Explore The Practice Of Traditional Paper Restoration From Concept To Principle

The concept of protection and restoration of modern cultural heritage is implemented in two parts: principles and technical specifications,which jointly promote the development of practical technologies for restoration and protection.After China’s accession to the Convention on the Protection of World Cultural Heritage in the 1980 s,for a long time,the restoration of ancient books of calligraphy and painting was simply covered in the overall development context of China’s cultural relics protection and restoration industry.The inadequacy of adaptation caused many unnecessary disputes.This article focuses more on repair than protection,and explains "What is restoration? What has been done to restoration? What should be done to restoration?" The three core issues of restoration: one is to reflect on the restoration behavior,sort out the concept cognition,historical evolution and development trend of protection and restoration cases,rules and regulations at all times and in all countries;The second is to briefly describe the application and operation practice of case based detection,clarify the cognitive misunderstanding of relevant concepts and technologies,and dialectically view the selection of repair materials and technologies in practice in combination with the material characteristics,preservation status and repair objectives of the repair object;The third is to consider how to promote integration in the collision of traditional and modern concepts and technologies,and answer how to maximize the preservation of cultural relics and prevent damage on the basis of adhering to traditional skills,in combination with previous restoration experience and research results.
