To build a strong education country and a strong talent country,we cannot do without high-quality vocational education.Vocational education,as a type of education as important as general education,has developed vigorously in recent years with the support of the policy.Secondary vocational education is an important part of vocational education,which must build the foundation position of labor secondary vocational education.In reality,students majoring in tourism service and management in secondary vocational schools,due to their weak foundation,urgently need to change the teaching method,take student learning as the center,establish the principal position of students in teaching,change the rigid indoctrination into incentive and participatory teaching,and improve students’ learning initiative and creativity.The teaching mode of BOPPPS is student-centered,which conforms to the teaching requirements of secondary vocational classes.This study takes the teachers and students of a secondary vocational school in Ji ’an as the survey objects,and introduces the BOPPPS teaching model into the teaching of Tourism English in secondary vocational schools according to the real effects of Tourism English teaching and learning.On the one hand,there are few researches on the teaching design of "Tourism English" in secondary vocational schools.This study provides a reference teaching case for promoting the teaching reform of "Tourism English" in secondary vocational schools.On the other hand,scholars’ research on BOPPPS teaching model mainly focuses on the application research of relevant courses in the field of higher education.This research can further expand the application field of BOPPPS teaching model.Therefore,on the basis of Constructivism Learning Theory,Cognitivism Learning Theory and Effective Teaching Theory,the author conducted research on the teaching status of "Tourism English" in secondary vocational schools by using literature research method,interview method and questionnaire survey,and summed up some problems in the teaching of "Tourism English" in secondary vocational schools from the two aspects of student learning and teacher teaching.Based on this,a series of teaching cases are designed and applied to daily teaching.After the completion of teaching practice,through the analysis of the collected texts and data,the conclusion is drawn that the introduction of BOPPPS teaching model into the course of Tourism English is of great help to improve students’ bad learning habits,and has a significant effect on improving students’ performance.
