A Study Of Buyi Language Euphemism

Euphemism is a universal linguistic phenomenon in various languages.Buyi language is one of the important languages in the Zhuang and Dong languages of the Sino Tibetan language family,and also has a large number of euphemism.Euphemism is characterized by its type,formation,construction principle and context,as well as the social function of euphemism.At present,there are many studies on Chinese euphemism,but few on Buyi language euphemism.From the perspective of the social function of language,the study of Buyi language euphemism is not only conducive to the protection of minority languages,but also conducive to enhancing people’s communication and exchange,and promoting the development of social harmony.Based on this,the author uses cultural linguistics,semantics,pragmatics,sociolinguistics and other relevant theoretical knowledge to analyze a large number of Buyi language euphemism corpus collected in the field from the perspectives of type,formation mode,construction principle,context,social function and so on.This article is divided into six parts,and the specific content is as follows:The introduction mainly analyzes the research object,research basis,research significance,relevant concept definition,domestic and foreign research status,research methods,corpus sources,and relevant explanations.The first chapter divides Buyi language euphemism into death and funeral,disease,religious gods,animals and plants,secretion and excretion,sex and fertility,body organs and physiological changes,occupation and circumstances,family and marriage,interpersonal relations and titles,money and economy,and other types according to the classification criteria of euphemism objects.The second chapter analyzes the phonetics,vocabulary,grammar and rhetoric of Buyi euphemism.Among them,there are mainly two types of phonetic methods:prosody change and tone change;There are five main ways to use vocabulary:synonym replacement,pronoun replacement,ellipsis,using colloquialism,and using loanwords;The grammar methods mainly include negation,interrogative sentences,modal particles,and the use of "ni（?）⁵³” Five types of abbreviations and abbreviations;There are three main rhetorical methods: anti grammar,metaphor,and ambiguity.The third chapter analyzes the construction principle and context of Buyi language euphemism.Finally,it points out that the construction principles of Buyi euphemism include distance principle,relevance principle and pleasant sounding principle;The context of Buyi language euphemism includes physical context,discourse context and background knowledge of speakers and recipients.The fourth chapter makes a detailed analysis of the social functions of Buyi language euphemism from the functions of taboo,avoiding customs,politeness and concealment.The conclusion systematically summarizes the main viewpoints of the paper and points out the shortcomings and areas for further research.
