Objective: To observe the comprehensive clinical efficacy of “Wen Shen Jian Zhong decoction” in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea with deficiency of spleen and kidney yang,including the efficacy on the main symptom of abdominal pain during menstruation and its related concomitant symptoms.Methods:Sixty outpatients screened by the entry criteria were randomly divided into two groups,including 30 cases in the treatment group(“Wen Shen Jian Zhong decoction”)and 30 cases in the control group(“Ai Fu Nuan Gong Wan”),and the two groups started to take the medicine 7 days before the onset of menstruation,and stopped taking the medicine after 9days.SPSS25.0 software was used for comprehensive analysis of the data.Results:(1)There were no significant differences in age,length of illness,VAS score,degree of illness,total TCM symptom score,TCM main symptom and each secondary symptom score between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),which were comparable.(2)After treatment,VAS score,total TCM symptoms score,TCM symptoms main symptoms score and each TCM symptoms secondary symptoms score decreased in both groups compared with those before treatment,and all P<0.05 were significantly different by intra-group comparison,indicating that the drugs were effective in both treatment and control groups.(3)The VAS scores,total TCM syndrome points,TCM main symptoms and their various secondary symptoms(excluding the light color of menstruation and excessive amount of leucorrhea)points in both groups after treatment were compared by inter-group comparison,all P<0.05,with statistically significant differences,indicating that the drugs in the treatment group were more effective than those in the control group in improving the VAS scores,total TCM syndrome points,TCM main symptoms and their various secondary symptoms(excluding the light color of menstruation and excessive amount of leucorrhea).(4)The difference between the two groups of secondary symptoms of menstrual darkness and excessive amount of leucorrhea after treatment was not significant(P>0.05),suggesting that the clinical efficacy of the drugs in the treatment and control groups on menstrual darkness and excessive amount of leucorrhea was comparable.(5)The total effective rate was 90.0% in the treatment group and 80.0% in the control group,and there was a significant difference in the clinical comprehensive efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05),indicating that the clinical comprehensive efficacy of the drugs in the treatment group was better than that of the drugs in the control group.Conclusion:The clinical comprehensive efficacy of “Wen Shen Jian Zhong decoction” in treating primary dysmenorrhea with spleen-kidney yang deficiency is better than that of “Ai Fu Nuan Gong Wan”,and the efficacy of the two drugs is comparable to that of the two concomitant symptoms of light-colored menstruation and lots of leucorrhea.
