As the population ageing continues to accelerate, how to achieve active aging of the elderly has been a topic of academic discussion for a long time.Healthy aging does not just mean the accumulation of physical health and life expectancy,it means that the elderly who have a higher quality of life.Chinese traditional culture advocates "Filial piety is the most important of all virtues",it is still the dominant way for the elderly to spend their old age in family care in our country. With the deepening of modernization, there are various forms of intergenerational relations and interaction between the offspring and their parents. As one of the important indexes of "participation, health and security" in the three frameworks of active aging, life expectancy of the elderly is of great significance to the study of the elderly,to study the effect of intergenerational support in family on the life expectancy of the elderly is helpful to improve the life length and quality of the elderly. The survey based on the theory of social exchange and intergenerational solidarity, and selected60-year-olds from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study from 2013 to 2018,construct data sets that include the survival and mortality status of older persons, using Cox proportional hazard models to explore the influence of different intergenerational support contents(such as economic, emotional, care),different directions of intergenerational support and the balance of intergenerational support on life expectancy and risk of death. The results show that the different directions and contents of intergenerational support and the balance of intergenerational support have significant effects on the life expectancy of the elderly, and show different characteristics.Specifically, from the perspective of intergenerational support content, economic support has become the most important form of intergenerational interaction between father and son, care support is the second, emotional interaction is less. There is a two-way intergenerational interaction between the elderly and their children, and economics, care and affection have different effects on the death risk of the elderly in different directions.Financial and care support to children by older persons reduces life expectancy and increases the risk of death.Older persons receiving care support from their children will increase their life expectancy and reduce their risk of death.Emotional support has a positive effect on the life expectancy of the elderly, which shows that emotional interaction with children is beneficial to prolong the life expectancy of the elderly, but the effect of emotional support is still limited compared with economic and care support. At the same time, the balance of two-way support will also affect the risk of death in the elderly. The balance of economic support received and given by older persons significantly increases life expectancy and reduces the risk of death, while unbalanced intergenerational support, especially when the amount given exceeds the amount received,it increases the risk of death in the elderly. The impact of intergenerational support on life expectancy also varies among groups. After regression,it was found that: in terms of gender, receiving financial support significantly increased life expectancy and reduced mortality risk for male elderly people, while receiving care support significantly increased life expectancy for female elderly people, the risk of death was reduced, and the probability of death in older women was more sensitive to the balanced response of care support. In urban and rural areas, receiving economic and care support significantly increased life expectancy and reduced mortality risk, and rural elderly were more sensitive to the balance of intergenerational support; The effect of two-way intergenerational support on mortality risk was not significant among the urban elderly.
