A Real-world Study On The Treatment Of Childhood Asthma With External Cold And Internal Heat Syndrome Using Modified Dingchuan Decoctio

Objective: To observe the effectiveness and safety of Dingchuan decoction in the Syndrome of external cold and internal heat in pediatric asthma by applying real-world study methods,and to provide a basis for its rational clinical use in the prevention and treatment of pediatric asthma.Methods: In this study,95 children with asthma who met the diagnostic and inclusion criteria and had relatively complete information records were selected from January 2022 to December2022 in the outpatient clinic of professor of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine.Instead of formulating a unified treatment plan,doctors formulate a treatment plan suitable for the child according to the wishes of the child and his family,and truly record the diagnosis and treatment process.Both groups used Dingchuan decoction on the basis of treatment based on pattern differentiation,and the traditional Chinese and Western medicine group added Flixotide as a long-term control drug.In both groups,SPSS25.0 statistical software was used to statistically analyze TCM symptom scores and other data before and after treatment after 7 days of continuous medication.Results:(1)Frequency of symptoms: More than 80% of the cases include cough,pharynx red,wheezing sound,wheeze,runny nose,nasal congestion,sneezing,dry lips,sneezing,red face.(2)Frequency of traditional Chinese medicines prescriptions: In addition to the medicinal composition of Dingchuan decoction(Ginkgo Semen,Ephedra Herba,Farfarae Flos,Arum Ternatum Thunb,Mori Cortex,perillae Fructus,Amygdalus Communis Vas,Scutellariae Radix,licorice),the frequency of use of more than 20% of traditional Chinese medicine includes:Belamcandae Rhizome,Magnoliae Flos,Peucedani Radix,Lepidii Semen Descurainiae Semen,Hematite,Galli Gigerii Endothelium Coreneum,Massa Medicata Fermentata,Ardisiae Japonicae Herba,Hordei Fructus Germinatus.(3)Symptom score: There was no significant difference in symptom scores(P>0.05)between the two groups before treatment,which was comparable.There was a statistical significance in comparing the score of each symptom(P<0.05)before and after treatment,and the two groups had a significant effect on improving TCM symptoms.After 7 days of treatment,there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups in improving the main symptoms(cough,wheezing,wheezing,chest tightness)and most minor symptoms(nasal congestion,runny nose,sneezing,fever/body heat,thirst,irritability,yellow/low urine,dry stool,dry lips,and red complexion).The two groups had similar therapeutic effects in improving these symptoms.There was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)between the two groups in improving some secondary symptoms(sweating,restlessness at night,and red pharynx),and the TCM group had better efficacy in improving these secondary symptoms than the Chinese and the Western group.(4)Overall efficacy: The total effective rate of both groups was 100%,the control rate of the TCM group was 95.9%,and the control rate of the Chinese and the Western group was 93.5%,and the difference(P>0.05)between the two groups was not statistically significant,and the overall efficacy of the two groups was comparable.(5)Adverse reactions: The adverse events in both groups were 0,and the difference(P>0.05)between the two groups was not statistically significant,and the safety profile was good.Conclusion:(1)This study showed that the core Syndrome of external cold and internal heat in pediatric asthma were wheezing,coughing,sputum production,nasal congestion,runny nose,sneezing,and restlessness at night,and the core signs were wheezing,dry lips,and red complexion.(2)In addition to the main drugs of Dingchuan decoction,these 9 drugs,Belamcandae Rhizome,Magnoliae Flos,Peucedani Radix,Lepidii Semen Descurainiae Semen,Hematite,Galli Gigerii Endothelium Coreneum,Massa Medicata Fermentata,Ardisiae Japonicae Herba,Hordei Fructus Germinatus are used more frequently.(3)The addition or subtraction of Dingchuan decoction is effective in alleviating asthma acute exacerbation symptoms and improving TCM symptoms,and its safety profile was good.
