| Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of pregabalin capsule and fire dragon pot in treating postherpetic neuralgia. Methods: In this study,60 patients with postherpetic neuralgia who met the diagnostic criteria were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group with 30 patients in each group by using a random number table. The observation group was treated with fire dragon pot and the control group was treated with pregabalin capsules. The treatment lasted for a total of 20 days.Respectively evaluate the Visual Analogue Scale,Self-Rating Scale of Sleep, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, and serum levels of the β-endorphins,CD4/CD8 ratio, and clinical efficacy before and after treatment. Results: 1.Visual Analogue Scale: Compared with before treatment, the VAS of patients in the observation group and control group decreased slightly(P<0.05),but the score in the observation group decreased more significantly than that in the control group(P<0.05),indicating that both the observation group and the control group can have a pain relieving effect, but the observation group showed better improvement in pain.2.Self-Rating Scale of Sleep: Before treatment, both the observation group and the control group were able to improve the patient’s sleep status, but the observation group improved sleep better(P<0.05).3.Serum β-Endorphins:After treatment, the content of serum β-endorphins of the observation and treatment groups increased compared to before treatment, but the observed group showed a more significant increase compared to the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).4.CD4/CD8 ratio: The ratio between the observation group and the treatment group after treatment increased significantly compared to before treatment, but the observation group showed a significant increase compared to the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).5.In terms of clinical efficacy: Both the observation group and the control group can play a clinical therapeutic role in treating postherpetic neuralgia, but the total effective rate of the observation group is 96.6%,which is significantly higher than the control group’s36.6%(P<0.05).Conclusion:Postherpetic neuralgia is a common disease in clinical practice that has no special therapeutic effect in traditional Chinese and Western medicine.Finding safe and effective traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods is worth exploring and researching in clinical practice. This study indicates that oral pregabalin can improve the pain and sleep of patients to a certain extent, and improve the the concentration of serumβ-endorphins and the CD4/CD8 ratio, but the effect of Fire dragon pot treatment is better.Fire dragon pot has no toxic side effects, few adverse reactions(some may cause burns),high safety, and is worthy of clinical promotion and use. |
