Objective: To compare and analyze the efficacy indicators of acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine fumigation in patients with cold and wet lumbar disc herniation in reducing pain, promoting the restoration of lumbar spine function and improving quality of life through clinical research, and to compare and observe the relevant efficacy indicators of acupuncture alone or Chinese medicine fumigation on patients with cold and wet lumbar disc herniation, and to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation.Materials and methods: Patients with lumbar disc herniation who met the inclusion criteria in the inpatient department of the Second Department of Orthopedics of Liaoning Affiliated Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly selected,90 cases were randomly divided into three groups by drawing lots, and their numbers were divided into 30 cases in the acupuncture group,30 cases in the fumigation group and 30 cases in the comprehensive group. All three groups underwent conventional basic treatment, the fumigation group underwent traditional Chinese medicine fumigation treatment, the acupuncture group underwent acupuncture treatment, and the comprehensive group underwent acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation. With one course per week, all three groups of subjects were treated for two weeks, for a total of two courses. The effect was evaluated at four time points: before treatment, one week of treatment, two weeks of treatment and one month after treatment. The assessment was based on the Pain Digital Evaluation Scale(NRS),the Japanese Orthopaedic Association’s Lower Back Pain Evaluation Treatment Score(JOA),and the Oswestry Dysfunction Index Questionnaire(ODI).The efficacy evaluation is based on the cure, effective, effective and ineffective criteria set by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2012 "Criteria for the Diagnosis and Efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diseases",and is evaluated after the end of treatment.Patients who complete treatment as required will be statistically analyzed and used SPSS26.0statistical software for statistics. Results of the study: The basic situation analysis of the three groups of participants in the included studies showed no significant difference in age and sex(P>0.05),which was clinically comparable. Before the start of treatment, the clinical evaluation scores(NRS score,JOA score,ODI score)of the three groups were analyzed, and the results showed that the P>0.05 was not statistically significant, and the difference was clinically comparable. In the intra-group comparison, the NRS score,JOA score and ODI score of the comprehensive group, acupuncture group and fumigation group were significantly improved compared with the NRS score,JOA score and ODI score before treatment in the three time periods after treatment at one week of treatment, two weeks of treatment and one month after treatment(P <0.05),which was statistically significant, indicating that acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine fumigation or acupuncture alone and Chinese medicine fumigation for the treatment of cold and wet lumbar disc herniation had significant improvements in reducing pain, promoting the restoration of lumbar spine function and improving quality of life.Compared with the patients in the acupuncture group and fumigation group, the NRS score,JOA score and ODI score of one week of treatment, two weeks of treatment and one month after treatment were better in the comprehensive group than those in the acupuncture group and fumigation group, and the NRS score,JOA score and ODI score of patients in the acupuncture group were better than those in the fumigation group at one week of treatment, two weeks of treatment and one month after treatment.Conclusion:1.Traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation or acupuncture alone and traditional Chinese medicine fumigation therapy have positive efficacy in reducing pain, promoting lumbar spine function recovery and improving quality of life in patients with cold and wet lumbar disc herniation.2.The efficacy of TCM acupuncture combined with TCM fumigation in the treatment of cold and wet lumbar disc herniation is significantly better than that of TCM acupuncture alone and Chinese medicine fumigation therapy, among which the effect of acupuncture alone is better than that of TCM fumigation alone.3.Traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine fumigation for the treatment of cold and wet lumbar disc herniation is not only reliable and obvious in improving symptoms, but also very simple and convenient, safe and comfortable, and no adverse reactions occur, which is worthy of further exploration and research.
