| Language teaching needs cultural teaching.In order to learn a language,we need to understand the culture behind the language.Chinese family name culture runs through people’s daily communication,as well as the whole process of the emergence and development of the Chinese nation.It is an important carrier of traditional culture and an important link to enhance the cultural cohesion of the Chinese nation.Adding the teaching of surname culture into the foreign language teaching can help to cultivate learners’ communicative ability,increase their understanding and identity of Chinese culture,help learners to know more about Chinese people’s ideas and values,and spread the excellent traditional Chinese culture.This paper uses statistical analysis method to study the contents of surname culture in two sets of comprehensive Teaching materials of Chinese as a foreign language and four teaching materials of Chinese culture as a foreign language which are widely used in China.The contents of surname culture in the texts of comprehensive textbooks are less and not comprehensive enough.In the cultural textbooks,the texts related to surname culture are mainly taught cultural knowledge,lacking communicative training.Moreover,due to the long writing time,part of the texts are outdated and not updated in time.By means of questionnaire survey,we have a deep understanding of the teaching status of Chinese surname culture in TCFL.It is found that foreign students do not know enough about Chinese surname culture,but they are very interested in learning it.On the basis of statistics and investigation,this paper gives some suggestions for teaching Chinese surname culture.The teaching of surname culture in Chinese as a foreign language includes the teaching of cultural factors of surname and the teaching of special cultural knowledge.The cultural factors of surnames in language teaching mainly appear in comprehensive teaching materials.The teaching should follow the principle of selecting appropriate cultural factors of surnames and grasping the proportion of cultural teaching,and mainly adopt direct interpretation method,intuitive display method and induction method in teaching.The special knowledge of surname culture should be taught in the way of surname culture course.The teaching content of surname culture course should include language knowledge,Chinese surname culture knowledge and communicative knowledge.The teaching principles should be targeted,interesting,contemporary and teacher-oriented,student-centered.Classroom teaching activities mainly adopt teaching method,discussion method,comparative analysis method and cultural practice method.Based on the proposed teaching suggestions,the teaching practice of the cultural course of Chinese surnames as a foreign language was carried out with short-term language students of the intermediate class of Shandong University of Science and Technology as the teaching object,and the teaching reflection was obtained through the teaching practice. |
