As a big agricultural country,China has long been concerned about the "three rural" issues by the government and society.With the continuous development of agriculture and rural areas,rural-themed documentaries have also emerged.Rural-themed documentaries are based on the theme of agriculture,rural areas and farmers,showing the real life in rural China.The diverse characters in these documentaries are also an important carrier to show the rural style.The female figures in these characters in this rural documentary also reflect the changes and development of rural China.The shaping of female images is also advancing with the times.They are active in various fields of the development of the times,including good wives and mothers who stay in the countryside,migrant workers,entrepreneurs who keep up with the trend of the times,and women who serve the people,village official.Therefore,this paper sorts out the female images and shaping methods in rural documentaries,and studies the shaping of female images in combination with the author’s own graduation work "Rural Women".This paper discusses the shaping of female images in rural documentaries through five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which analyzes the historical background and realistic context of the current research on rural female images,and combs out the research status of rural documentaries and documentary female images.The second chapter defines and sorts out the concept and development of rural documentary.The third chapter focuses on the analysis of three categories of female images often appeared in rural documentaries.The fourth chapter discusses the shaping methods of female images in rural documentary through narration and audio-visual aspects.The fifth chapter discusses the creation process of the graduation work Women in the Village and the female images and shaping methods in the film.
