| This thesis is a study on the policies of the two countries on the distribution of their own languages,focusing on Chinese international education and Korean language education.It is hoped that Confucius Academy,which uses the policies and statistics of the two countries’ domestic language distribution,will be compared with Sejong Academy,a representative organization for overseas Korean language education.The results and problems of Chinese international education and Korean foreign language education are understood by comparing the policy and education aspects.The goal is to find ways to improve for sustainable and effective development.Entering the era of knowledge-based in the 21 st century,countries around the world are making various efforts to spread their culture and language to the world.China and South Korea are no exception.China’s economic growth has led to a boom in learning Chinese around the world,and the number of Korean learners in Korea has increased significantly due to the influence of the Korean Wave(a phenomenon affecting Korean culture in Asia and around the world).In this thesis,we plan to compare and study the policies of the two countries on the spread and dissemination of native language education.The composition of this study is as follows.The text is divided into four chapters.Chapter 1 presents the necessity and purpose of the study and then introduces the difficulties and methods of the study in this thesis.It also examines the status and evaluation of the two organizations through papers and research materials of Confucius Academy and Sejong Academy.The purpose of Chapter 2 is to understand the current view and progress of China and South Korea on soft power and public diplomacy based on theoretical discussions on soft power and public diplomacy.Chapter 3 is a comparative study of Sejong Academy and Confucius Academy.First,we looked into the background,purpose,and operation of Confucius Academy.In the current state of operation,data such as which countries Confucius Academy and Sejong Academy were concentrated in and how the number of schools has increased since the establishment date was summarized.It also conducted a survey on the operation of textbooks,teacher training,certification tests,websites,and scholarships based on curriculum.Based on these findings,section 3 increases the number of the two organizations.The commonalities and differences such as long trends,management composition,establishment methods,and role of cultural diplomacy were summarized.Chapter 4 examines the limitations of Confucius Academy and Sejong Academy through the results obtained in the previous section.It also suggested future directions to overcome the limitations of the two organizations.Finally,the concluding sentence summarizes the research process,conclusion and shortcomings of this article. |
