| With the implementation of the New Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools in 2017,new English textbooks have been widely used throughout our country.Senior High school English teachers must have a lot of inadaptability to the new content,new arrangement,new concepts,etc.of new textbooks.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the impact of new textbooks on English teachers in classroom teaching.This paper aims to investigate the following contents through questionnaire survey,interview and classroom observation: 1)Does the new textbook have an influence on teachers’ teaching? 2)If there is an influence,what aspects does the impact of the new textbook on the teaching of senior high school English teachers reflect,and how does it affect these aspects?This study mainly investigates the actual teaching status of senior high school English teachers teaching and the influence of new textbooks on the teaching content,teaching methods,teaching speed and order,teaching degree and depth,teaching concepts,etc.This paper takes 30 senior high school English teachers from three schools in Yanji City as the research subject.A questionnaire survey was done to analyze teachers’ understanding of the new curriculum standards and the influence of new textbooks on classroom teaching of senior high school English teachers.This paper probes into teachers’ understanding of the new curriculum standard and the influence of the new textbooks on teachers’ classroom teaching in senior high schools through questionnaire survey.Through interviews and random selection of 3 teachers,this paper analyzed teachers’ classroom teaching with new textbooks.Classroom observation was used to further investigate the current situation of classroom teaching.SPSS26.0 statistical software was used to analyze the data in this study,including mean value,standard deviation,paired sample T test,multiple correspondence analysis and other values of the questionnaire results of 30 senior high school English teachers were collected and sorted out.The major findings are as follows:1)Some teachers do not fully understand the specific requirements of core literacy,curriculum objectives and curriculum content in the new curriculum standard;2)Teachers can choose and supplement teaching contents during classroom teaching,leaving more teaching space for teachers.3)When designing the teaching activities of new textbooks,teachers not only pay attention to the training of specific skills,but also pay attention to the comprehensive language ability.4)Teachers think that the content of the new textbook is too much to complete all the teaching tasks within the prescribed time;5)Teachers think that the new textbook has increased the difficulties of teaching for teachers and learning for students as well;6)The main purpose of teachers is to cultivate students’ core English literacy and form the necessary language ability,cultural awareness,thinking quality and learning ability.Based on the above research results,this paper puts forward the following suggestions for the classroom teaching of senior high school English teachers under the guidance of the new curriculum standards: 1)Teachers should have better understanding of the new curriculum standards and the related concepts;2)Teachers should make flexible and creative use of new textbooks and various educational resources according to the actual situation of class;3)Teachers should earnestly practice the concept of English learning activities and focus on students’ learning ability;4)Teachers should pay attention to optimizing classroom and improving classroom teaching effect so as to make up for the problem of insufficient class hours;5)Teachers should cultivate students’ thematic awareness,comprehensively master the new high school English textbooks,systematically understand the teaching contents and themes of each unit,so as to understand the compilation intention of the new textbooks;6)The new curriculum standard requires teachers to change from a knowledge-based teaching mode to a teacher-oriented teaching mode so that teachers should form a reasonable view of teachers and students,so as to cultivate the principal role of students.To sum up,the new textbooks have had different degrees of influence on the teaching contents,teaching methods,teaching speed and order,teaching degree and depth,and teaching concepts of senior high school English teachers.Through the study of the influence of new textbooks on the classroom teaching of senior high school English teachers,it is helpful to provide a certain reference for teachers who use new textbooks to better grasp the textbooks and use textbooks,so as to achieve the purpose of cultivating students’ core literacy. |
