Study On Female Tombs Of Tang And Five Dynasties In The Middle And Lower Reaches Of Yangtze River

This paper takes the female burials of the Tang and Five Dynasties in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River as the research object and makes a gender archaeological analysis of the female burials in this region through four chapters.Firstly explains the background,significance,and research method of this paper,and defines the geographical concept of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,which can be divided into two regions,namely the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.Then the current state of academic research related to the content of this paper is will be presented in three sections.Secondly,a typological analysis of the burials in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.This thesis will briefly explain the discovery of female burials in this region during the Tang and Five Dynasties,make a typological analysis of the chronological tombs and the common and evolving burial objects,and classify them according to the three periods of the early Tang,late Tang,and Five Dynasties.In addition,the typology of burial,burial objects features,and the development of the burials in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River are sorted out,and the period of the non-chronological tombs was presumed.The third chapter is a typological analysis of burial in the lower Yangtze River region.The discovery of female burials in the region is first listed,followed by a typological analysis.The period characteristics of the burials in the region are summarized,and the period of the non-chronological tombs was presumed.The fourth chapter makes a hierarchical classification of female burials in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and discusses various factors influencing the hierarchy of female burials in this period from a gender perspective.In addition,based on the burial records,several main reasons influencing the location of female burials were analyzed,and some burial objects with gender elements were identified by comparing the frequency of common burial objects in male and female burials.Finally,this chapter combines gender theory with several types of burial objects,including unearthed drumming figurines,jade wearing,and tomb records,to analyze the other’s status of the female in that period as reflected in female burials of the Tang and Five Dynasties periods.
