A Chinese Translation Practice Report Of Asahi Keywords For Employment Tests 2021

News report is an important means of information dissemination in the information society.As neighboring and friendly countries,China and Japan have many similarities in social issues.By reading Japanese news reports,we can not only understand the current national conditions of Japan,but also provide a new perspective for Chinese people to examine international issues.Therefore,with the rapid development of Internet technology,the translation of Japanese news reports is becoming increasingly important.Asahi Keywords for Employment Tests 2021,published by Asahi Shimbun Press,is selected as the translation practice text.The translation reaches 11,988 words.This text belongs to the news text,and its audience has the characteristics of extensive and mixed,that is,the geographical distribution of the reading group is wide,all over the social strata and fields.Translation should not only take stylistic style into account,but also meet the communication needs of news texts to ensure readers’ reading experience.Under the guidance of “communicative translation theory” and“semantic translation theory”,this translation practice analyzes and deals with the translation of news headlines and the translation of news subjects by applying various translation methods and skills,such as addition,co-translation,provincial translation and translatory translation.This paper analyzes the lexical translation,sentence pattern translation and quotation mark processing in news main content translation.Through this translation practice,the author makes clear the guiding significance of communicative translation and semantic translation to news texts.Communicative translation theory focuses on readers’ reading experience,and its translation methods are flexible and suitable for news translation.Semantic translation theory requires accurate transmission of original text information,which is consistent with the characteristics of authenticity and accuracy of news texts.Considering the differences between Chinese and Japanese social and cultural backgrounds,this translation practice is guided mainly by communicative translation theory,supplemented by semantic translation theory,in order to conform to the expressive characteristics of Chinese news reports.This translation practice report is a summary of the author’s personal experience and lessons,aiming to improve the author’s ability to use translation theory to guide translation practice,and also to provide Japanese translation learners with reference to Japanese news translation methods.
