At present,with the rapid development of social economy,food culture as a long-established folk culture phenomenon,has gradually entered people’s vision and evolved into a popular cultural activity.Food culture tourism is increasingly favored by tourists.This translation task is mainly to translate the first five sections of Chapter IV of the book Searching and Meeting.The practice report was to translate the food culture tourism section of the book,hoping to provide some reference for the same type of tourism culture texts.The translator adopts the ecological translation theory proposed by Professor Hu Gengshen of Tsinghua University.Eco-translatology focuses on the translation mainly from three ecological dimensions,including the linadaptive transformation,and puts translation activities into the whole ecological environment.Eco-translation has its own theoretical background,philosophical foundation,principles,methods and contents,and it emphasizes the importance of ecological environment and the central role of translators.Through reviewing a large number of materials and searching a lot of literature,the author mainly discusses and analyzes the three aspects: lexical,syntactical and textual level,and at the same time will uses various translation methods and techniques to improve the translation according to the different cultural characteristics of English and Chinese.In terms of lexical translation,it consists of conversion,omission,amplification,explanation;in terms of syntactical translation,it consists of voice conversion,change of sentence order,division,linear translation,inversion,transformation from hypotaxis to parataxis;in terms of textual translation,this report consists of lexical cohesion and logical cohesion.A good translation of a tourism text must show the cultural charm it covers to the readers.The innovation of this translated text is to ensure the logic while also taking into account the emotional element of the source text,so that the reader will be interested in the food culture after reading.The translator hopes that through this translation,the translator can understand that translation is not only a simple transformation of the two languages,but puts these words in a specific language environment and make the translation more in line with the context by reading a lot of relevant literature.At the same time,translators need to improve their professional ability,expand their knowledge and lay a good foundation for future translation practice.
