| Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is gradually funded by world economic organizations as developing its economy.Among them,the Asian Development Bank plays a great role in the development of Guangxi.Therefore,the Project Administration Instructions of the Asian Development Bank is an essential material for the project management office or the owner to read and strengthen their understanding of the project process,which plays a certain role in promoting the economic development of Guangxi.Through consulting materials,the author finds that there are a few studies on the translation of project administration manuals,and most are product or publicity manuals.Thanks to the role of the Project Administration Instructions issued by ADB in promoting the economic development of Guangxi,the author believes that there is a certain research value.This translation practice is the Chinese translation of sections 5.09 and 5.10 of the Instructions.The main contents are the guidelines for technical assistance and community participation in small projects.Based on Reiss’ s text typology and Peter Newmark’s communicative translation strategy,this report analyzes the textual type,characteristics and translation difficulties.Reiss put forward different translation methods according to text types.Newmark proposed semantic translation and communicative translation strategies on the basis of Reiss.As an official document issued by ADB,the Project Administration Instructions focuses on the authenticity of the content and has a certain purpose.Therefore,it is an informative text.And the author must thoroughly understand the content of the original text and accurately retain and convey it.This report firstly summarizes Reiss’ s and Newmark’s translation theories,and then puts forward specific translation methods at the lexical,sentence and text levels,such as amplification,omission and voice conversion,so as to strengthen the translation process and improve the quality of the translation. |
