| The research on Chinese characters teaching in Chinese as a foreign language has been going on for many years, but there are still many problems that need to be solved urgently. As far as learners of different ages are concerned, the differences in physiological and psychological mechanisms lead to differences in the ability of children and adults to learn Chinese characters. Therefore, the teaching methods for the two should also be different.Generally speaking, adult learners have strong learning motivation and clear learning goals.Although Chinese characters are difficult to learn, they can still master the use of Chinese characters by rote memorization. However, for children, the boring and boring teaching of Chinese characters will only reduce their interest in learning and weaken their enthusiasm for learning. In view of the poor learning outcomes of Chinese characters for young children, this article attempts to improve students’ interest in learning, and use picture books—a book composed of exquisite pictures, concise words and vivid storylines to teach Chinese characters to children.Picture books have the characteristics of rich pictures and texts, vivid and interesting stories, which help to stimulate children’s interest in reading, and can internalize the content of picture books into their own knowledge under the guidance of teachers to help students learn and master Chinese characters. The learning of Chinese characters should not only consider students’ interest in learning, but also consider the problem of the order in which Chinese characters are learned, that is,the problem of the difficulty level division of Chinese characters.Which Chinese characters to learn first, which Chinese characters to learn later, and how to divide them all require precise research to determine. The survey found that the current common Chinese character difficulty level classification standards are not divided for learners of a specific age,but only for all Chinese learners, without taking into account the learning differences between children and adults. In response to this phenomenon, some researchers have used scientific methods to formulate a graded vocabulary of Chinese characters specifically for child learners, with a total of ten grades and a total of 500 words for children to learn. The main content of this paper is to take the existing scientific Chinese character classification vocabulary as the teaching content, and use the picture book as the material carrier of the teaching content.Reasonable adaptation of the original picture book text,to produce a set of picture book reading materials with difficulty levels, and to make a teaching design,so as to teach Chinese characters.Through this set of graded reading materials, children learn Chinese characters, master the recognition and reading of these Chinese characters and the writing of some simple Chinese characters, and use them in real life, that is,the complete process from input to output, which is the main goal of this article. The combination of picture books and graded vocabulary is conducive to improving students’ interest in learning and reducing the difficulty of learning Chinese characters. It also provides new ideas for children’s Chinese character teaching and picture book adaptation in the future, and provides teaching reference for Chinese teachers. |
