The Chinese Dream was composed by Zhang Zhao,a famous contemporary composer,in 2013,and was included in The Century-old Classical Works of Chinese Solo Piano in the following year.This piano piece has a unique and novel conception,a beautiful theme and melody,with national characteristics.Zhang Zhao added a large number of ethnic cultural elements in his musical works,hoping to spread the profound Chinese culture to the world.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces zhang Zhao’s life and the creation background of The Chinese Dream.The second chapter analyzes the creative characteristics of The Chinese Dream.First of all,it expounds the structure of the work,the use of harmonic language and melodic development techniques from the perspective of the music itself,and then probes into the inheritance of theme idea and sound imitation,the characteristics of shaping artistic conception and creative techniques.The third chapter analyzes the performance of The Chinese Dream,and discusses it from the aspects of timbre imitation,multi-voice melody control and fast running based on the author’s playing experience.Finally,it compares the different playing versions of Shen Wenyu and Tian Jiaxin,and excavates their unique playing styles.Through the study of the Chinese Dream in many aspects,the author further interprets the creative style and national feelings of Zhang Zhao’s works,and provides theoretical and practical basis for the correct interpretation of his works.
