A Practice Report On C-E Translation Of 5G Revolution—Business Methodology In The New Flow Era(Excerpt) Based On Skopos Theory

The advent of the 5G era plays a vital role in China’s economic and communication development.5G has become a hot theme in the communication industry and academia in recent years.At present,China’s development in the 5G has been at the forefront of the world.In order to spread the current status and achievements of domestic 5G development,the C-E translation of this theme has become more and more frequent.This translation practice report selects chapters 2 and chapter 3 of 5G Revolution— Business Methodology in the New Flow Era for English translation.In these two chapters,the source text introduces the advantages of 5G and the key technologies of5 G,which reflects the importance of 5G and also has the characteristics of typical scientific and technological texts.The source language text is a typical scientific text,which has the characteristics of concise,objective,logical and professional language.Guided by skopos theory,the translator combines the three rules,namely,the skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule with the C-E translation of the text.In the specific process of translation,the translator classifies the translation difficulties such as technical terms,non-subject sentences,Chinese minor sentences,repeated information and conjunctive words from the three levels of vocabulary,syntax and discourse,and analyzes and presents these translation difficulties and the translation skills used to solve them by citing cases.Among them,the translator adopts a variety of translation skills,such as conversion of voice,division,omission,reference,addition so as to make the translation accurate,cohesive and coherent,in line with the reading habits for target language readers,and achieve the translation purpose of transmitting accurate information under the guidance of Skopos theory.Through the English translation of these two chapters,the translator not only deepened his understanding and understanding of the translation of scientific and technological texts,but also improved his translation ability and consolidated his language expression ability.At the same time,it is hoped that translation in the field of communication will be concerned by more scholars and translation practitioners.
