| “The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education”(2011 Edition)proposes that learners should have the consciousness of cooperation with others when completing tasks,and emphasizes the importance of cooperation consciousness to sound personality.In practical teaching,cooperative learning is also an important strategy for junior middle school English teachers’ classroom teaching.However,teachers’ operation of cooperative teaching has the problem of ‘emphasizing results and neglecting process’.Specifically,teachers pay attention to the design of cooperative tasks and ignore the organization of cooperative tasks and the individual evaluation of cooperative results.It results in learners’ inability to obtain the improvement of self-development consciousness and learning ability from the tasks of cooperative learning.In order to clarify the importance and differences of different cooperative teaching models,the researcher explains the specific operating,principles and teaching design of the three models.And it’s hoped to explore the impact of three cooperative reading models and their differences on learners’ language output,degree of interaction and interest in reading environment.Based on Reciprocal Determinism,Social Interdependent Theory and Learning Pyramid Theory,this study tested 121 students in Grade 8 of junior middle school in S city.The research used experimental research method,literature research method,testing method,discourse analysis method and questionnaire method as research method and reading test paper,recording equipment,corpus analysis table,questionnaire and SPSS as research tools.Among them,there are 40 people in Jigsaw,41 in Pyramid style and 40 in Interactive style.This study mainly explores the impact of different cooperative reading teaching models on learners and their differences.Specifically,it includes four research questions: First,what impact does the application of Jigsaw puzzle cooperative reading teaching model have on the subjects? The question consists of three sub questions,namely,what is the impact of Jigsaw cooperative reading teaching model on the subjects’ language output,degree of interaction and interest in reading situation? Second,what impact does the application of Pyramid cooperative reading teaching model have on the subjects? The question includes three sub questions,namely,what is the impact of the Pyramid cooperative reading teaching model on the subjects’ language output,degree of interaction and interest in reading situation?Third,what impact does the application of Interactive cooperative reading teaching model have on the subjects? The question includes three sub questions: what is the impact of interactive cooperative reading teaching model on the subjects’ language output,degree of interaction and interest in reading situation?Fourth,what are the differences in the effects of Jigsaw,Pyramid and Interactive cooperative reading teaching models on the subjects? The question consists of three sub questions,that is,what are the differences between the three models on the subjects’ language output,degree of interaction and interest in reading situation?The study found that: First,the Jigsaw cooperative reading teaching model had a positive impact on the subjects.a.In terms of language output,when the total score is 50,the average score reaches 41.53,which is high;b.From the perspective of interaction,the subjects can solve problems efficiently(the overall task time is short;the quality of interaction results is high);c.As far as the perspective of reading situation interest was concerned,the Jigsaw cooperation model has a general impact on the subjects.Second,the Pyramid cooperative reading teaching model has no significant impact on the subjects.a.In terms of language output,the average score of the subjects is 29.98,which is at the medium level;b.From the perspective of interaction,the interactive atmosphere of the subjects in this mode is relaxed and harmonious(the number of supportive verbal feedback of the subjects is high;the number of continuous questions of the subjects is high,reaching 12 times);c.As far as the perspective of reading situation interest was concerned,the Pyramid cooperation model has a positive impact on the subjects’ interest(the subjects are highly satisfied with the model,and the average value of 10 questions is 4.33).Third,the Interactive cooperative reading teaching model has a positive impact on the subjects.a.In terms of language output,there are great individual differences in the level of subjects,but the overall level is at the middle and upper level,reaching 33.20 points;b.From the perspective of interaction,the subjects’ interaction times under this mode are the highest,reaching 43 times;c.As far as the perspective of reading situation interest was concerned,this model has the greatest impact on the subjects(and the average value of 10 questions is4.49).Fourth,there are differences in the influence of the three cooperative teaching models on the subjects.a.In terms of language output,Jigsaw has the greatest impact,followed by Interaction,and Pyramid is the lowest;b.From the perspective of interaction degree,the number of Interactions is the most,but the Pyramid atmosphere is the most relaxed and harmonious;c.As far as the perspective of reading situation interest was concerned,Interaction has the greatest impact,close to “very satisfied”,followed by Pyramid type,and Jigsaw type is the lowest,but it also meets the general standard.Based on the above research results,the researchers draw the following enlightenment: First,Jigsaw is a task driven teaching model,which is conducive to the subjects’ language output;Second,the Pyramid is an interest oriented teaching model,in which the subjects interact most easily,which is conducive to enhancing their self-confidence;Third,Interactive is the student-centered teaching model,in which the subject’s ability can be brought into full play.The findings of this study hope to provide a choice for teachers to use the cooperative reading teaching model. |
