| With the continuous strengthening of globalization and the vigorous development of tourism,the international tourism city Zhangjiajie has attracted a large number of foreign tourists because of its unique natural landscape and long history and culture.The English translation of the Tourism Guidebook of Zhangjiajie is not only conducive to local tourism promotion and cultural dissemination,but also helps foreign readers and tourists to deepen their understanding of Zhangjiajie.This report takes the contents of chapters 2 to 5 of the Tourism Guidebook of Zhangjiajie as the target text.The source text mainly makes a systematic and comprehensive introduction to the scenic characteristics,geological causes,species resources and tourist routes of Zhangjiajie,including a large number of place names,scenic spot names,poems and couplets,which constitute the key and difficult points of this translation practice.Place names not only have the directional function of general place names,but also reflect the local characteristic culture.The naming of Zhangjiajie scenic spots is characterized by borrowing fairy tales or historical legends.Poems and couplets are mostly quoted from the feelings expressed by celebrities after visiting Zhangjiajie.Therefore,aiming at solving the problems encountered in the translation process,the author uses eco-translatology to study the English translation of typical language phenomena in the selected books.That means based on the adaptation and selection contents of the ecological translation theory,the translator analyzes the translation difficulties of the source text from the three dimensions of "linguistic dimension","cultural dimension" and "communicative dimension",and expounds on the translation methods that should be adopted.The report points out that the translation of four-character words,loose sentences and non-subject words should be transformed from the linguistic dimension,and free translation,combination and amplification should be adopted.The translation of culture-loaded words and mythological characters should be transformed from the cultural dimension using amplification and transliteration with annotation.The translation of metonymy words,poems and synonyms should be transformed in the communicative dimension through free translation,omission and conversion. |
