A Translation Report On AI-First Healthcare (Chapter Six)

Rapidly evolving artificial intelligence is increasingly used in a wide and deep range of fields,including healthcare.This translated report lets readers to understand the impact of AI applications in healthcare on society,and let people see the prospect of the healthcare field.The translated material is selected from Chapter 6,Applications of AI in Healthcare,of the book AI-First Healthcare,published by O’Reilly Media Inc.in 2021.In this chapter,the authors analyzed and prospected the development space and application prospects of AI in healthcare,and also analyzed the future of healthcare from the perspective of healthcare applications of AI.In this translation report,the translator introduced the background of the translation project and gave a detailed description of the translation process,including pre-translation preparation work,in-translation and post-translation proofreading,and the main solutions adopted to ensure the quality of the translation.The translation analysis section of this report,which is the core part of the translation report,focuses on the translation methods used in translating this text at both the lexical and sentence levels.In terms of lexical translation,the translator used translation methods such as addition,omission,and conversion of parts of speech,as the source text is more accurate in terms of word usage.At the sentence translation level,the source text is very logical,with a variety of sentences and more long and difficult sentences,so the translator chose the translation in reverse order and reconstructing,and analyzed and processed the sentences according to different situations.Finally,the translation practice was summarized in terms of the gains of the translation practice and the direction of future efforts of the translation practice.The translation practice has further improved the translators’ translation practice,enabled the translators to have further understanding and application of translation methods at the level of vocabulary and sentences,and accumulated valuable experience for future translation practice.
