The Study Of Chinese Newspaper Reading Materials In Korea

Newspapers reflect a variety of social phenomena and times,allowing learners to keep up-to-date with a lot of information.Learners can also learn written language through newspapers and understand the country’s culture.Nowadays,information about China can be obtained in real time through the Internet.In order to use and understand the information provided by the text,reading training for newspaper articles is indispensable,so Chinese newspaper reading textbooks are very important.In order to understand the current situation of Korean Chinese newspaper reading textbooks,this paper selects the Korean “Reading China” as a case study.This paper first introduces the concept of newspaper education,the necessity of newspaper education,the present situation of newspaper Chinese curriculum and teaching materials in Korean universities.Then,the author analyzes the Chinese newspaper reading material,“Reading China”,which is suitable for advanced learners in Korea,and introduces its overall framework and structure,vocabulary,text,sentence patterns,annotations,exercises and supplementary materials.In addition,the paper also summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the textbook,and on the basis of this,put forward suggestions for perfecting textbook.The results show that: “Reading China” is suitable for the number of new words,but the ratio of super-class words is high,the topic of the text is interesting and short,but the exercise type is monotonous compared with other Chinese newspaper reading textbooks.In addition,as a Korean localization textbook,this textbook has more obvious localization characteristics.This paper also gives some suggestions on how to use this textbook,hoping to promote the research on Chinese newspaper reading textbooks in Korea,to help Korean Chinese learners improve their Chinese proficiency by reading articles in newspapers and various media.
