| Multimodal theory emphasizes the use of multiple symbolic resources to construct and represent meaning.It is a theory that has been continuously developed with the emergence of new media and the progress of modern science and technology,and teachers apply it to teaching Chinese as a foreign language,stimulating learners’ multiple senses through a variety of modal forms,such as text,pictures,audio,video,animation,etc.,stimulating learners’ interest in learning,and then improving their learning efficiency.The primary comprehensive Chinese course is the core course of the basic stage of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and its teaching is mainly based on language knowledge teaching and language skill training,focusing on the comprehensive development of the four skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing.Therefore,applying multimodal theory to the teaching of elementary comprehensive Chinese courses can mobilize students’ multiple senses on the basis of flexible use of multimedia technology,and achieve the requirements for the comprehensive development of students’ four skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing.This paper takes multimodal theory as the theoretical support,and combines multimodal theory with online primary Chinese comprehensive course teaching for specific teaching design.Firstly,this paper systematically sorts out the research status and achievements of multimodal theory and teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Secondly,the basic content and modal selection of multimodal theory are elaborated,and the feasibility of multimodal theory applied to online Chinese primary comprehensive course teaching is discussed.Thirdly,on the basis of the analysis of teaching environment,use of teaching materials,teaching objectives,teaching content and other elements,combined with multimodal theory,the fifth lesson "Cao Chong Weighed an Elephant" in the first volume of the primary Chinese comprehensive course textbook "Road to Success For Upper Elementary" is taken as an example to carry out detailed teaching design and implementation.Finally,the feedback information of teaching evaluation is sorted out,and the teaching design is reflected and summarized,and then teaching suggestions such as correctly selecting modal types,giving full play to the efficacy of physical modalities,and strengthening students’ platform operation ability are put forward. |
