| This report is written based on the consecutive interpreting narration of Museum of the Sino-Japanese War 1894-1895.On August 5,2022,the author of this report was entrusted by two Laotian students studying in China to interpret the exhibition content of Museum of the Sino-Japanese War 1894-1895 into English.The whole interpretation lasted about 60 minutes and the author completed the interpreting task smoothly.The report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is task description,mainly introducing the background of the task,the characteristics of the source language,and the target audience and the interpreting requirements;The second chapter is process description,which mainly describes the pre-interpretation preparations,the main challenges encountered during the process of the interpretation and audience feedback and self-reflection;The third chapter is the guiding theory,which briefly introduces the Triangle Model of Interpretive Theory and its guiding role in this interpreting task.The fourth part is the main body of this report—case analysis.In this part,the author,by some typical examples,illustrates how she completes her interpretation task quite smoothly in understanding the source text,getting out of the language shell,and re-expressing it in this interpretation process,as well as the interpretation coping strategies adopted,such as visualization,lexical chunk,addition,reorganization,etc.The fifth part is the conclusion,in which the author makes a brief summary of this report,summarizes the gains and losses of this interpretation,and does some post-interpretation reflections. |
