A Study Of Dramatization In Chen Yan’s Novels

Chen Yan is a writer who turned from drama creation to fiction creation.His creation practice of "stage trilogy"(" The Backstage Clan ","Protagonist" and "Comedy")is a model of the integration of fiction and drama art.From the experience of Chen Yan’s "dramatic life",his dramatic creation,rehearsal and appreciation experience has influenced the creation of his novels,so that his novels have obvious "dramatic" characteristics in character image shaping,narrative features,language arts and other aspects.At present,there are a certain number of achievements in the domestic research on the dramatization of Chen Yan’s novels,but there is no further study.This paper focuses on the text of Chen Yan’s novels and makes an overall analysis of the dramatic features of Chen Yan’s novels by combining his dramatic creation and essay interview.This paper investigates the dramatic features of Chen Yan’s novels from the perspectives of narrative theory,drama theory and dramatic writing,and summarizes the literary value of Chen Yan’s dramatic writing.The thesis is divided into four chapters to discuss the dramatization of Chen Yan’s novels and its literary value.The first chapter explores the dramatic characteristics of the characters in Chen Yan’s novels.There are two kinds of characters in Chen Yan’s novels,one is the image of the "bottom people",the other is the group image of the "opera artists".The writer constructs the relationship between characters in a structural pattern similar to "binary opposition".In the aspect of character’s psychological description,it expands the method of character’s image building by writing the way of conflict,opera lyrics and modality.The second chapter analyzes the dramatic artistic features of Chen Yan’s novels.This paper discusses the dramatic art features of Chen Yan’s novels from three aspects:the modality of narrative time,the multiplicity of narrative space and the transformation of narrative art.The modality of narrative time inherits the experience of time processing in drama narration,organizes the story structure with the idea of circulation,and promotes the plot development with the dual complement.The multiplicity of narrative space introduces the text space and performance space of opera,and expands the poetic and lyric features of the novel.The transformation of narrative art focuses on the transformation of Chen Yan’s novel creation from "chinese traditional opera " to "drama" narrative reference,and focuses on the analysis of the writing characteristics of Comedy from the two aspects of the scene of the novel narrative and the sudden change of the plot development.The third chapter analysis the dramatization of the language style in Chen Yan’s novels.The action of Chen Yan’s novel language refers to the promotion of plot development through verbal conflict on the one hand,and the display of characters’ psychological motivation through the dialogue of characters’ subtext on the other hand.In addition,the language of Chen Yan’s novels is also integrated into the Qin dialect and the unique languge of Qinqiang Opera.Qin dialect spoken,popularity makes Chen’s novel has the style is concise and plain language,the unique language of Qinqiang Opera used in the novel language,constitutes the Chen novel "stage trilogy" and the cultural atmosphere of opera.The fourth chapter analyzes the literary value of dramatization in Chen Yan’s novels and probes into its value from the perspective of the integration of novels and operas "Cross-media" writing enables the novel to learn from the structure of drama to complete the exploration and practice of the structure of the novel."Cross-media" writing enables the multi-media factors of drama to enter the narrative of the novel and updates the aesthetic experience of the novel reading."Introducing Qinqiang opera into the novel" highlights the cultural atmosphere of the novel,and is also a conscious inheritance of the opera culture.In general,the dramatization of Chen Yan’s novels makes the poetic,lyric,freehand and other features of opera enter into Chen Yan’s novels through narrative time and narrative space,which constitutes the neutral and elegant beauty of the combination of narrative and lyricism.In Comedy,the conflict and tension between Chinese and Western dramas enter the novel through the narrative scenes and plot arrangements,which constitute the mutual dialectic between the comic attitude and the tragic core of the novel.Chen Yan’s novels add the aesthetic characteristics of the narrative in a dramatic way and show the unique aesthetic style of the novels.This paper is helpful to provide a certain reference for the subsequent research on Chen Yan’s literature,and also to promote the possibility development direction of dramatic writing in the novel in the future.
