"Stamp Of Fighting The Pandemic" Research Of Theme And Painting Language

With the spread of “Covid-19” around the world,the fight against the epidemic has become an unavoidable topic in society today.Artist as a group would like to provide their distribution by creating arts works on various forms on the theme of “Fight against Covid-19”.Among these works,the choice of the elements of the anti-epidemic theme is related to the depth and content.Nowadays majority of artworks on the theme of antiepidemic contain medical staff,medical equipment and volunteers as related elements while few works are using "marks" as the main object of expression.The "marks",as the traces left by the masks worn for too long,and as the key object of this creation,contains rich meanings: from realistic point of view,the "marks" is a testimony after long-time and intense working for medical staff;from a symbolic perspective,the’marks’ is the emotional affiliation of the medical staff who have solid ultimate goal of overcoming the epidemic.The oil painting of ’Epidemic Stamp’ features a series of health care workers’ face after taking off their masks to represent the difficulties and hardness of ’epidemic fighting’process.To have a better expression,this work is mainly based on the painting language of British artist Lucian Freud.Through learning his unique brushwork and vivid texture effect,the "marks" can express more rich content in the picture,not only limited to the portrayal of medical figure,but also conveys the high respect for health care workers by the shaping of the ’marks’ themselves,and the adding to the professional dignity of health care workers who sacrifice themselves for others.Behind the health care workers there are also thousands of ordinary people who support the "anti-epidemic" work in their own way to grantee work process is in order.As art creators,we should keep abreast of the times and pay close attention to the changing social environment arising from the epidemic,create inspiring paintings that bear witness to the spirit of the times,and contribute efforts to end of the epidemic as soon as possible.
