China Guardian’s 2020 autumn auction Ba Da Shanren “Landscape Flowers and Birds Calligraphy Book” was sold for a sky-high price of 71.3 million yuan.In view of the phenomenon of mixed fish and dragons in the auction market of Ba Da Shanren calligraphy and painting,the paper uses stylistics,literature research methods,comparative identification methods and other methods to grasp the obvious traces of counterfeiting on the lotus stem,lotus leaf and signature on one of the lots,and conduct analysis and identification,and confirm that the “Lotus Diagram” is a fake painting,thus laying the foundation for identifying the fakes of the Ba Da Shanren “Landscape Flowers and Birds Calligraphy Book”.First of all,the style of the Ba Da Shanren painting lotus stems is characterized by the seal book with a wave of the pen,without breakage;Round and full with ink,no flying white;After style research and comparison,it was found that the lotus stem of the lot “Lotus Flowers” appeared false and white,which did not match the style characteristics of the lotus stem painted by the Ba Da Shanren and was a forgery.Second,the half-moon-shaped lotus leaves painted by the Ba Da Shanren painting on the front and side are composed of at least six strokes;There are tiny lobes at one end of the lotus leaf;The lotus leaves are shaped with boneless dot pens,while the lot“Lotus Flowers” is only drawn with four strokes,which is completely different from the half-moon-shaped lotus leaves painted by the Ba Da Shanren on the front side,exposing obvious traces of counterfeiting.Finally,the style of the Ba Da Shanren from 69 to 80 years old is characterized by the “Ba Da Shanren” type “Xiao Zhi” flower bet,and the writing of the “Ba” character is simplified to two points on the left and right,and the right point is significantly higher than the left point;However,the writing of the “Ba” character in the “Lotus Diagram”is the opposite;the addition of the word “Shan Ren” is not the same as the “Zhi”character of the Ba Da Shanren,so it can be concluded that it is a counterfeit.The above appraisal is sufficient to prove that the “Lotus Diagram” of the Ba Da Shanren’s “Landscape Flowers and Birds Calligraphy Book” is a fake painting.
