The global economic situation has remained sluggish since the outbreak of COVID-19.The number of college graduates reached 10 million in 2022 and will continue to grow.College students are faced with severe and complex employment situation, which aggravates employment anxiety, brings negative impact on students’health and career development.Propose new challenges to the employment work in universities.Questionnaire surveys are usually used to investigate the employment anxiety of college students, but the commonly used scales have weak coverage in terms of dimensions, single measurement scenarios, and unsystematic classification of the environment.Based on the perspective of Ecological systems theory, employment anxiety is analyzed and the environment is systematically deconstructed. However, there is no employment scale based on this theory. Therefore, study 1 worked out a questionnaire.Study 2 is based on the theory of interaction between individuals and the environment, considering the relationship between individuals’perception and evaluation of the external environment and employment anxiety,in order to construct a moderated mediation model, explore the mechanism of employment anxiety among college students, and determine the influencing factors of employment anxiety. This study utilizes both qualitative and quantitative research methods to construct a model of employment anxiety, optimize the employment anxiety scale, and explore the influencing factors of employment anxiety. In study 1,the researcher designed the interview process and outline through sorting out the literature, obtained text data through semi-structured interviews, and encoded the interview texts of 14 fresh college students through grounded theory. The researcher sorted out the factors affecting college students’employment anxiety, compiled a questionnaire, providing quantitative standards for more accurate measurement. The second study used statistical analysis to explore the current situation of employment anxiety. And the impact of stress perception, negative evaluation fear, and gender on college students’employment anxiety and its mechanism.Main findings:(1)College students’employment anxiety consists of four dimensions:social and public opinion influence, school and peer influence, family and relatives influence, and individual internal and external performance, including 18 questions. The scale has good reliability(Cronbach’sα=0.944)and validity(X~2/df=2.122,CFI=0.934,TLI=0.921,RMSEA=0.078);(2)Stress perception was positively correlated with negative evaluation fear(r=0.506,p<0.01),and employment anxiety(r=0.406,p<0.01).and negative evaluation fear had a significant positive predictive effect on employment anxiety(r=0.618,p<0.01);(3)Fear of negative evaluation plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between stress perception and employment anxiety of college students;(4)Gender plays a moderating role in the first half of the stress perception--fear of negative evaluation--employment anxiety pathway. The scale has good reliability and validity, and it is a suitable tool to survey college students’employment anxiety. The survey results show that college students’employment anxiety is generally at a moderate level, influenced by factors such as expected salary, major, only child, gender, and family economy. And study 2 shows that the higher stress perception, the higher fear of negative evaluation, and also have a higher degree of anxiety.Women with higher stress perceptions have lower negative evaluations of fear and anxiety than men.People who want to solve employment anxiety by reconstructing automated beliefs about negative evaluation fears, alleviating college students’employment anxiety, thereby improving individual mental health and subjective well-being,and successfully completing the transition from school to the workplace.
