The outbreak of modern ecological crisis has brought great challenges to mankind, and all countries are seeking more environmentally friendly ways of production and life.China takes an active part in global environmental governance and has become an important participant in the construction of global ecological civilization.Xi Jinping thought on ecological progress has contributed Chinese wisdom to solving global ecological problems, and China also tries to spread the ecological concept around the world.Xi Jinping’s important ecological discourse is collected in “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China(Volume I to III)”.The quality of its English translation is directly related to whether “Chinese voice” can be conveyed vividly. As a new research paradigm of ecological translation, most of the existing researches of EcoTranslatology are in the field of “metaphorical reference” while there are few researches on its “literal reference” studies that is of great significance to the construction of ecological progress. This thesis takes the bilingual texts on “ecological environment” in the volume I to III of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China” as the research object, which belongs to the field of “literal reference” study of Eco-Translatology.The corpus software Ant Conc is used to count high-frequency words in source texts, and the Chinese-English parallel corpus is established by means of CUC Para Conc.Typical cases are found and derived from the corpus according to high-frequency words,so as to make comparative analysis with examples. Then, according to the translational eco-environment,three-dimensional transformation and green translation theory, the thesis discusses the translational macro-environment,meso-environment and micro-environment of ecological discourse;and studies the translation methods adopted by translators to adapt to the translational eco-environment and make the adaptive transformation of linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension. The thesis also examines how translators can achieve green translation, reveal the ecological thoughts of authors and discover the ecological meanings of texts, and maintain ecological balance between the original language and the target language. It is found that Xi Jinping thought on ecological civilization emphasizes the harmonious coexistence between human and nature and advocates respect for nature.Translators need to consider their political stance in translation, take the initiative to adapt to the translational eco-environment,and realize the transformation of linguistic dimensions by adopting part of speech conversion, omission of repetition, and ensuring the coherence of the translation through amplification. In terms of cultural dimension, free translation needs to be adopted to translate idioms, literal translation to translate poetry, and flexible using of free translation, omissions and substitution to translate metaphor. The transformation of translators to the communicative dimension is mainly reflected in the translation of chapter titles, the accurate transmission of the author’s purpose, and the enhancement of the readability of the target texts. For green texts, the translator should use“naturalization” translation and try to preserve the natural elements in the original text through literal translation,so that the translation practice can return to the green significance and environmentally friendly value as well as inspire the readers’ awareness of respect and protection of nature.
