Modal words are one of the important means of expressing mood in Chinese.The modal words "ne" and "ba" are frequently used in the primary stage of Chinese learning,but they have not been paid enough attention to in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This paper takes Native English speakers as the research object,statistically analyzes the dynamic corpus and the real corpus related to "ne" and "ba" in teaching practice,and investigates the use of "ne" and "ba" by native English speakers.The collected corpus of errors is analyzed separately,the types of errors are summarized,and the causes of errors are analyzed based on the characteristics of Native English speakers.Finally,the paper puts forward some feasible suggestions on the teaching of English native speakers in order to provide reference for the teaching of English native speakers.This paper is divided into the following parts:Because the modal words "ne" and "ba" are used in many ways,the situation is complicated.Based on the ontological research of modal words "ne" and "ba",this paper firstly summarizes 14 usages of "ne" and 13 usages of "ba" in the middle and the end of sentences.Then,based on the specific usage of "ne" and "ba" as the reference,this paper investigates the usage explanation of "ne" and "ba" in the syllabus and teaching materials with a wide range of usage,and makes a statistical analysis of the usage distribution of "ne" and "ba" in the syllabus and teaching materials.This paper analyzes the corpus of native English speakers’ use of "ne" and "ba" collected in corpus,and makes a detailed investigation of the acquisition of Chinese modal words "ne" and "ba" by native English speakers.This paper analyzes the errors in the acquisition of modal words "ne" and "ba" by native English speakers collected from corpus and classroom teaching,summarizes the types of errors,and analyzes the causes of errors from five aspects: negative transfer of mother tongue,generalization of target language,communication strategies,characteristics of Chinese modal words and the factors of teaching environment.Finally,on the basis of the above,taking "ne" and "ba" as examples,this paper puts forward some teaching suggestions on Chinese modal words,and gives the corresponding teaching design and practice design,in order to reduce the error rate of "ne" and "ba" acquisition by Native English speakers and improve the teaching efficiency of Chinese modal words.
