| With the worldwide rampage of COVID-19,the development of multinational corporations has been dramatically affected.To help more people understand the relevant knowledge of the development strategy of international companies,the author selects the information text Unilever’s Basis of Preparation 2020:Annual Report & Accounts as the text,and discusses the translation skills based on Newmark’s communicative translation theory.By understanding and studying Newmark’s communicative translation theory,the author finds that both communicative translation theory and informative text attach great importance to the transmission of text information to the outside world.They complement each other in this aspect.Based on the interaction between the two,the author believes that accuracy,conciseness,and naturalness are the essential objectives to be achieved in the translation of informative texts under the guidance of communicative translation theory and demonstrates the applicability of communicative translation theory to the translation of informative texts with examples.To improve the translation effect of the target language text,the author used the techniques of annotating,modifying,omitting,rephrasing,splitting and the transformation of passive voice to alter the text.The author appropriately deletes and rewrites the translation to make the translation more concise.In this translation practice,the author discussed and studied Newmark’s communicative translation theory and explained some translation skills,and learned a lot about information text in previous research results.The author hopes that this report can provide some feasible suggestions for other peers. |
