| Since China’s reform and opening up,there has been an increasing emphasis on developing foreign language education and cultivating individuals with an international perspective through Sino-foreign exchanges and cooperation.In addition to fostering language skills,greater attention has been paid to nurturing intercultural communication skills and promoting moral education in primary and secondary schools through foreign language instruction.This report on E-C translation practice is based on the first and second chapters of "Values in English Language Teaching," which examines the moral dimensions of English language teaching,values in classroom interactions,teacher development,and ethical dilemmas encountered by English language teachers in their personal and professional lives.In translating this educational work,the translator consulted terminology websites,parallel texts,and related educational materials to ensure accuracy in translating specialized terms and names of educational scholars.The translator used different strategies to translate various types of sentences in conformity with Chinese expression norms,drawing on Newmark’s Text Typology and Communicative Translation Theory at the lexical,syntactic,and textual levels.Through this translation practice,the translator gained a deeper understanding of the study of values in foreign language education and developed proficiency in translating educational texts,accumulating valuable experience for future translations.This report aims to provide new insights on the translation of educational works by exploring the translation of educational texts guided by text typology and communicative translation theory. |
