On The Adaptation Of Comics In "Scar" Literature

"Scar" literature,as the starting point of the revival of literature in the new era,has significant value in literary history.The "Scar" literature comic series that accompanied the works of scar literature,together with the works,became the popular "scar" trend at the time.The combination of language and images in cross-media communication left a heavy mark in the history of literature and art."Scar" literature comics such as "Maple","Scars",and "The Position of Love" began to shift their focus from the national political ecology to the attention of ordinary social humanities and ecology in terms of content.Through continuous image narratives and single image narratives,a rich relationship between language and images is formed.In the combined narrative of images and scripts,they focus on delicate human emotions,uphold human dignity and values,and reveal the interests of worldly life.However,in terms of narrative form,it largely follows an inertial trajectory.In the shaping of heroic characters and the promotion of revolutionary optimism,the constraints of revolutionary realist literary and artistic norms can still be seen.During this period,painters of three generations-old,middle-aged,and young-adhered to different painting concepts,forming distinctive stylistic features,participating in literary and artistic practice in various forms,and enriching the aesthetic connotations of the original works with rich image art.The artistic explorations of some young painters such as Li Bin and Chen Yilian not only attempted to reveal the essence of social life but also integrated subjective self-expression,introduced modern techniques,and initially demonstrated modern aesthetic characteristics.Most of the comics adapted from "scar" literature works were published in the early 1980 s.At that time,they complied with the national ideology,met the needs of readers’ emotional catharsis,and,due to their easy-to-understand characteristics,were widely disseminated,greatly expanding the receptive audience of the "scar" trend.However,the limitations of "scar" literature itself also led to the homogenization and stylization tendency of comic images.When literature lost its sensational effect and readers’ political enthusiasm dissipated,the comics adapted from "scar" literature naturally declined.
