Research Objectives: This study combined with the development characteristics of children aged 6-8years old, designed a Latin dance teaching program for children aged 6-8 years old,and adopted empirical methods to verify the effect of Latin dance teaching,in order to deeply understand the influence of Latin dance on the physical and mental health of children aged 6-8 years old,and make contributions to the healthy development of physical and mental health of children aged 6-8 years old.Research methods: This study conducted research through literature review, experiment, questionnaire survey, and mathematical statistics, and selected children aged 6-8 from Xinzheng Foreign Language Primary School in Henan Province as experimental subjects. They were divided into experimental group and control group according to the principle of equal distribution. The experimental group received Latin dance teaching intervention, while the control group received routine teaching. In combination with the National Standard for Student Health and Physical Fitness,50 meter running, sitting forward flexion "One minute rope skipping and one minute sit-ups were used as test indicators for the physical fitness of subjects. The psychological health level of children was investigated using a self-made psychological scale that was tested for reliability and validity. The experiment lasted for 16 weeks."Research results:(1)Before the experiment, the physical fitness test of the experimental group and the control group,50 meters running, sitting forward bending,1 minute skipping,1 minute sit-up and physical health indicators after the independent sample t test, there is no significant difference,in line with the experimental requirements.(2)After 16 weeks of testing, the experimental group and the control group physical fitness test,50 meters running, sitting forward bend,1 minute skipping,1 minute sit-up and physical health indicators after the independent sample t test, there are significant differences, indicating that the experimental group is significantly superior to the control group.(3)Comparative analysis of the physical quality and psychology of the subjects before and after the experiment,as well as significant differences in the indexes of students’ 50-meter running, seated forward bending,1-minute skipping,1-minute sit-up and mental health survey through independent sample T test.It shows that the physical fitness indicators of children aged 6-8 have different changes. In contrast, the physical fitness indicators of children in the experimental group have a more significant change range, while children in the control group have improved their performance after the experiment, but the improvement range is relatively small. This shows that compared with conventional physical education,Latin dance can promote the improvement of physical quality of children aged 6-8 years in a short time, and has a more significant impact on the physical quality of children aged 6-8 years.Research conclusions:(1)Latin dance training has a positive impact on improving and promoting the physical and mental health development of children aged 6-8 compared to regular sports.(2)Latin dance training has better effects on improving the four events of 6-8 year old children: 1 minute rope skipping,1minute sit-ups,50 meter running, and sitting forward bending.(3)Latin dance training has significantly improved the attention,adaptability,cognition,emotions,willpower,self-consciousness,personality,and other indicators of 6-8 year old students, and the students’ mental health level is significantly higher.
