Festival is an important cultural bond of a nation and an important part of life. With the development of society and the increase of productivity, scientific and technological civilization brings not only convenience to mankind, but also brings pressure to mankind’s spirit. In the process of searching for soul peace, people pay more and more attention to festivals and the meaning behind them.In the process of the evolution of traditional festivals,it has a profound influence on the thinking mode and behavior of the nation and has become a part of the unique cultural thought of the nation. This article aims to study the similarities and differences of New Year culture between China and Russia and the ways of teaching New Year culture. The most important festival in China is the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival is also called the New Year. The term "New Year" emphasizes the meaning of "Renewing Vientiane" and "Farewell to the old and welcome the new",which implies people’s expectations for a better life in the future. In this article,we will use the terms "New Year" and "Spring Festival" in common.New Year’s vocabulary is all holiday words and expressions related to the New Year.In other words, the concept of "New Year Vocabulary" not only includes the names of festivals, but also includes traditions, rituals, customs, cooking food, iconic characters, products, gifts, folk customs, etc.,forming a rich theme space, which can also be called the lexical semantic field. In order to determine the lexical semantic field of the concept of "New Year",we conduct association experiments on it,and then analyze the results of the experiment to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural connotations and cultural habits under the semantic field of "New Year",so as to provide the teaching of Chinese New Year culture to Russian students.Because of the existence of the cultural semantic field,in the process of language learning, the most difficult thing for learners is not to learn pronunciation and organize the language according to grammatical rules, but to fully grasp the cultural connotation of the vocabulary and its scope of use.Foreign language learners are most susceptible to the influence of the culture of their mother tongue when they use words. They often fail to understand the original meaning of words in the language and the phenomenon of flexible use due to the interference of their mother tongue culture, and make various mistakes unconsciously. This article uses the method of comparative analysis, taking the common New Year between China and Russia as an example,to compare and study the holiday vocabulary and the hidden culture in Russian and Chinese, and design a Chinese language for Russian students who are learning Chinese. The teaching plan helps Russian Chinese learners use vocabulary more accurately in cross-cultural communication, reduce communication errors, and improve cross-cultural communication skills.
