| The employment of college students has always been a major livelihood issue, college students play a very important role in the job market, and they are the backbone of promoting the rapid development of social economy. However, the arrival of COVID-19 and the development of various enrollment expansion policies have led to the reduction of jobs and the increased number of graduates, which seriously threaten the employment quality of college students.China’s special household registration dual system makes there is a large gap between urban and rural areas in economic and social development, infrastructure and educational resources. With the accumulation of time, this gap will bring more marginalized experience to rural college students, and further affect their career expectations and decent work.Decent work refers to a material and mentally safe working environment, disposable free working hours, organizational values consistent with family values and social values, appropriate income and health care.In view of the problem of decent work,Duffy(2016)and others put forward the psychology of working theory by tracking the marginalized or under economic constraints groups, and extended the concept about future of decent work perceptions. However, the domestic research on decent work mainly involves staff groups, and the research on decent work for college students is still in its infancy. This study under the background of Chinese culture, based on the psychology of working theory and social cognitive career theory, mainly discusses the marginalization of rural college students on the future of decent work perception, and through the influence of their positive perception and negative perception, and what kind of effect for the future of decent work perception, and the boundary mechanism of subjective social status, has certain theoretical basis and practical significance. In this study,763 rural college students from domestic universities were surveyed,By using confirmatory factors analysis, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, structural equation model, and Bootstrap test for deviation correction.the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The marginalized experience negatively predicts decent work perception of rural college students(r =-0.417,P < 0.01).The stronger the marginalization felt, the lower the perception of decent work.(2)Inferiority mediated the relation between marginalized experience and decent work perception of rural college students.Intermediary effect accounted for 32.94%.Marginalization experience is positively related to the sense of inferiority, and more people who feel more marginalized have a higher level of inferiority, which negatively affects decent work perception.(3)Self-efficacy mediated the relation between marginalized experience and decent work perception of rural college students, with the intermediary effect accounting for 5.84%.Marginalized experience is negatively associated with self-efficacy,and people who feel more marginalized reduce their self-efficacy level, thus negatively predicting the perception of decent work.(4)Marginalization experience affects self-efficacy through inferiority, and then affects the future of decent work perception.Hence, inferiority and self-efficacy are chain intermediary roles. With the chained mediation effect accounting for 11.84%.(5)The moderating effect of Subjective social status on the link between marginalized experience and the perception of decent work(β =-0.105,t =-4.468,p < 0.001).The higher the level of subjective social status, the stronger the negative relationship between marginalized experience and perception of decent work.(6)The moderating effect of Subjective social status on the link between marginalized experience and self-efficacy(β =-0.043,t =-2.724,p < 0.01).The higher the level of subjective social status, the stronger the negative relationship between marginalized experience and self-efficacy.(7)Subjective social status and marginalized experience、self-efficacy、decent work perception constitute a moderated mediation model. This mediating effect was moderated by subjective social status. This study explores the relationship between the marginalization experience of rural college students and their expectations of decent work, and explores the mediating role of inferiority and self-efficacy,as well as the influence of subjective social status. However, limited to cross-sectional studies, longitudinal studies can be considered in the future, with expanded sample types, including consequence variables such as academic satisfaction and other boundary mechanisms. |
