Under the global tourism boom,people generally show great enthusiasm for tourism.Taking this opportunity,Qinghai Xiwang Industrial(Group)Co.,Ltd.is trying to create a third tourism card for Qinghai Province—Tianjun Mountain Scenic Area.The practice report is commissioned by Qinghai Xiwang Industry(Group)Co.,Ltd.,with a total of over 10,000 words and a requirement of four months to complete.The materials are selected from some chapters of The Feasibility Study Report of Tianjun Mountain,aiming to make positive contributions to the local tourism.The practice report mainly focuses on pre-translation,mid-translation and post-translation.Before translation,the translator made a translation plan and glossary after consulting relevant literature and parallel texts.Then,based on the analysis of lexical and syntactic features of the source text,under the guidance of the Variational Translation Theory,the translator adopted “adding,deleting,altering,narrating,condensing,integrating,and editing techniques” to guide and solve translation problems of cultural-loaded words,four-character structures and run-on sentences,so as to achieve the information transmission function of the target text.Then,according to Reiss’ s text typology,the source text can be classified as the informative text.While translation,the translator ensured the quality of the target text through repeated self-proofreading,peer-proofreading and tools of quality control.After translation,the translator summed up her gains in this translation practice and put forward some shortcomings in the translation of culture-loaded words,scenic spots names and complex sentences,with a view to improving her skills in the translation of similar texts in the future.At the same time,the translator hopes this practice report can provide some help for the translation of such informative texts.
