Research On Lv Zuqian’s Thought Of Ritualism

Lv Zuqian,adhering to the family-study tradition of being eager to learn,is also known as the "Three Sages in the Southeast" together with Zhu Xi and Zhang Shi.At the same time,he is also a scholar of etiquette who is good at studying Confucian classics and history,and is good at applying it to the world.Lv Zuqian’s thought on etiquette originated in the background of the flourishing of Song Dynasty’s academic thought.The confucianism in this period were full of crisis,because they were impacted by Buddhism and Taoism.These factors together endowed Lv Zuqian’s rite thought with the characteristics of "emphasis on education" and "historicality".Lv Zuqian,on the basis of reading a lot of books and deeply elaborating the thought of the etiquette of the predecessors,also studied and adjusted the etiquette system with a group of colleagues,and has a profound and unique understanding of the etiquette:First of all,Lv Zuqian rationalized and constructed the ontology of ritual in the form of dualism.At the same time,Lv Zuqian emphasized the practical characteristics of the unity of knowledge and action and self-restraint in the study of etiquette.And take "benevolence" and "neutralization" as the moral connotation of propriety.In addition,as an educator and statesman,Lv Zuqian,on the one hand,emphasizes the effective play of the function of etiquette in the fields of children’s education,self-regulation and folk customs,and on the other hand,he makes efforts to improve the rational patriarchal system and political principles.In summary,this paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research purpose,research significance and research method of this paper,as well as the research status of this topic;The second chapter is an overview of the background of the formation of Lv Zuqian’s thought on etiquette.It mainly starts from the family tradition of Lv’s family and the social status quo of moral corruption,and analyzes the possibility and necessity of its thought on etiquette by combining the motivation of subject and object;Chapters 3 to 5 are the core of this paper.The third chapter aims to summarize the theoretical connotation of Lv Zuqian’s ritual thought through the analysis of the ontology construction,cognitive path and moral principle of Lv Zuqian’s ritual thought,so as to clarify the metaphysical basis of Lv Zuqian’s ritual thought;The fourth and fifth chapters analyze the main content of Lv Zuqian’s rites thought from the perspectives of education and politics respectively;The sixth chapter is based on the first three chapters to summarize the characteristics and value of Lv Zuqian’s thought on etiquette.It includes the comparative analysis of Lv Zuqian and Zhang Zai,Zhu Xi and other scholar’s etiquette thought,as well as inspiration for later studies.in order to see Lv Zuqian’s contribution in the field of etiquette.
