| The activities of collecting gold and stone in the late Qing Dynasty were mostly carried out through group research.During this period,many gold and stone scholars conducted collection activities based on regions and formed various gold and stone cultural circles.Wu Yun was a collector of gold and stone in the late Qing Dynasty.After the Taiping Rebellion,he retired from Suzhou and tasted the three generations of Yi artifacts with Suzhou gentry,with inscriptions on ancient books.He was not only an outstanding collector of bronze ware in Suzhou during the late Qing Dynasty,but also closely connected with collectors of bronze ware from various regions,making him a central figure.This article analyzes the bronze ware collection activities among the gentry groups centered around Wu Yun and explores the style of bronze ware collection in Suzhou during this period.Firstly,this article elaborates on the trend of collecting bronze artifacts in Suzhou during the late Qing Dynasty,revealing the social motivations of Suzhou’s gold and stone culture,and conducting an in-depth analysis of the literati and merchants among Suzhou’s bronze ware collectors.Secondly,the historical restoration of the late Qing Suzhou Bronze Ware Collection Network,especially the systematic sorting of the collection network of the central figure Wu Yun,explores the personnel composition of the bronze ware collection network centered around him,and conducts a detailed investigation of the collection views,sources of collection funds,and collection distribution of members of this group;Finally,focusing on the late Qing Suzhou bronze market,this article showcases the historical imprints of the late Qing Suzhou bronze market from three aspects: forgery,authenticity,and trading,in order to reveal the existence value of Wu Yun and other late Qing scholars in art collection. |
