According to the results of the seventh population census, from 2010 to 2020,the proportion of China’s population aged 60 and above increased by 5.44 percentage points, and the proportion of the population aged 65 and above increased by 4.63 percentage points.Compared with the previous decade, the increase was 2.51 and 2.72 percentage points, respectively. In the face of the increasing aging process, the Chinese government has continuously improved the elderly care service system and actively responded to it.With the diversified development of the pension model, more and more elderly people choose to spend their old age in the pension institution, although daily life has been guaranteed, but leaving the familiar environment, away from relatives and friends, and unable to re-establish social networks in a short period of time will enhance the loneliness of the elderly living in the institutional pension mode.Studies have found that the loneliness of the elderly in institutions is twice as high as that of the elderly at home and in the community. The aim of this study is to help older adults in institutions reduce loneliness, improve depression, improve social support, improve quality of life and increase well-being in institutions through group music therapy. The author will collect and discuss the pre-and post-measurement data through literature method, measurement method, interview method, experimental observation method, and statistical analysis method. This study was carried out in a nursing institution in Yuan’an County,Hubei Province, and the elderly who met the enrollment criteria were randomly divided into experimental group(8 people)and control group(8 people),and the experimental group was subjected to group music therapy twice a week,45-50 minutes each time,a total of 16 times, and the following results will be analyzed by three scales: loneliness scale(UCLA),simplified geriatric depression scale(GDS-15),and social support rating scale(SSRS),combined with comprehensive analysis of the completion of treatment plan goals.(1)The post-test score of the Loneliness Scale(UCLA)in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the pre-test score, and the post-test score of the Loneliness Scale(UCLA)in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group, which proved that group music therapy could significantly reduce the loneliness of the elderly under the institutional pension mode.(2)The post-test score of the simplified geriatric depression scale(GDS-15)in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the pre-test score, and the post-test score of the simplified geriatric depression scale(GDS-15)in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group, which proved that group music therapy could significantly improve the negative emotions of the elderly in the institutional pension mode.(3)The post-test score of the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)of the experimental group was slightly higher than the pre-test score, and the post-test score of the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group, which proved that group music therapy could significantly improve the social support of the elderly in institutions.(4)Through the correlation analysis of three scales,it was proved that loneliness was positively correlated with the degree of depression in the elderly, and improving negative emotions such as depression in the elderly could reduce the loneliness of the elderly;Loneliness is negatively correlated with the degree of social support, and improving the degree of social support can effectively alleviate loneliness in the elderly. This study was carried out in a nursing institution in Yuan’an County,Hubei Province, and the elderly who met the enrollment criteria were randomly divided into experimental group(8 people)and control group(8 people),and the experimental group was subjected to group music therapy twice a week,45-50 minutes each time,a total of 16 times, and the following results will be analyzed by three scales: loneliness scale(UCLA),simplified geriatric depression scale(GDS-15),and social support rating scale(SSRS),combined with comprehensive analysis of the completion of treatment plan goals.
