Research On The Relationship And Intervention Between High School Students’ Optimistic Intelligence Quotient,Presence Of The Father,and Coping Styles

This study focuses on the relationship between high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient and presence of the father and coping styles.850 high school students were used as the respondents to investigate the level of high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient and the quality of presence of the father as well as the characteristic of coping style using the“High School Students’ Optimistic Intelligence Quotient Questionnaire”“High School Students’ Presence of the Father Scale”“Simplified coping style Questionnaire”,and analyzed the overall status of high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient and their demographic differences in terms of gender,grade,only child,domicile location,residence status and parents’ divorce history,and further examined the correlations among the three factors and the effect of presence of the father on high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient mediated by coping styles,and finally conducted a group counseling intervention based on the study of related psychological mechanisms,with the following findings.(1)The overall status of high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient was better,with significant differences in three aspects: gender,grade level and whether parents had a history of divorce,in which the optimistic coping power of male students was significantly higher than that of female students,and the infectious power of happiness of female students was significantly higher than that of male students;the happiness index and optimistic coping power of senior and senior third year students were significantly lower than those of other grades,and junior second year students had the highest total score of optimistic intelligence quotient.High school students whose parents did not have a history of divorce were significantly higher in optimistic coping power than those whose parents have a history of divorce.The differences were not significant for only child or not,residence status and domicile location.(2)In general,high school students with higher presence of the father tended to cope in a positive way.There was a significant positive correlation(p<0.01)between high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient and presence of the father,and the higher the quality of presence of the father,the higher the level of high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient.High school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient was significantly and positively correlated with positive coping style and coping tendency(p<0.01),and the more positive the coping style tendency,the higher the level of high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient.The two dimensions of happiness contagiousness and optimism frustration of high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient were significantly negatively correlated with negative coping styles(p<0.01),and the lower the use of negative coping styles,the higher the scores of happiness contagiousness and optimism frustration of high school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient.Presence of the father was significantly associated with positive coping style and coping tendency(p<0.01),and the better the quality of presence of the father,the more positive the coping tendency of high school students.(3)There was a significant mediating effect of posotive coping style between presence of the father and optimistic intelligence quotient of high school students,with the mediating effect accounting for 47% of the total effect.(4)The group counseling intervention in this study had a significant effect on improving high school students’ coping styles,and the improvement of coping styles was found to have a significant effect on the improvement of optimistic intelligence quotient.Based on the investigation of the current status of secondary school students’ optimistic intelligence quotient,this study found the influence mechanism through the study of the relationship between their presence of the father and coping style,and developed a corresponding group counseling program to intervene,which achieved significant effects and provided references for future studies.
