In the past decade,with the update of teachers’ teaching concepts and the continuous development of teaching technology,with the support of multimedia technology,multi-modal teaching mode has been introduced into the international Chinese field.This is a teaching method that uses a variety of symbols and multiple senses to display teaching content,arouse students’ interest in learning,mobilize students’ enthusiasm for learning,and deepen their understanding of what they have learned.This paper aims to introduce multimodal theory into the classroom of online intermediate Chinese comprehensive courses,and with the help of this new theory,make the intermediate comprehensive courses in online teaching more lively.First,we will clarify the current state of multimodal research in Germany and abroad,analyze educational connections and platforms.Second,based on previous research,we will analyze the feasibility of multimodal application to the entire secondary curriculum.In the early stages of course design,fully understand the selection and principles of teaching materials,teaching methods,and modes,and use ELAN 6.4.0 multimodal discourse analysis software to highlight the different modes of the entire advanced Chinese course on the MOOC platform,statistically analyze the application of those patterns.This article takes as an example the chapter "1minute and 27 seconds in the elevator" in the book "Developing Chinese Intermediate Comprehensive I" and conducts a preliminary analysis and research on this text.On the basis of the understanding of the subject matter and the teaching content.Finally,the teaching is summarized and reflected and the advantages and disadvantages of this teaching design are systematically analyzed through the feedback of the students.By introducing multimodal theory in the intermediate Chinese comprehensive course,we find that multimodal theory has strong flexibility and has good integration in the face of various teaching objects and teaching content in online teaching.With the continuous improvement of the level of information technology,the attachment between multimodal theory and network technology has been improved,which has promoted the continuous innovation and development of online international Chinese teaching.
