| This translation practice report based on chapters 33,34,37 of the book titled Handbook of the History of Money and Currency,analyzes and summarizes the implicit logical representation problems encountered during the process of translation.The source text is a financial text with precise wording and strict logic.The original text describes the financial development history of multiple countries around the world,and provides a comprehensive overview of the latest research in the field of monetary history.Due to the differences between English and Chinese regarding grammatical structure,textual logic and cultural background,it is challenging for the translator to reveal the implicit logic in the text.Under the utility of the relevant knowledge of translation knowledge,the translator analyzes and discusses the challenge of hidden logic problems and finds appropriate solution methods and skills.Based on the theoretical knowledge of logic,the translator divides the problem into two levels: vocabulary and discourse.At the lexical level,the translator accurately selects the meaning of certain words by understanding the connotation of concepts and expanding the denotation of concepts by free translation in order to represent the implicit logic of the source text.At the textual level,the translator mainly studies the causal relationship,transition relationship and progressive relationship hidden in the text,and uses translation techniques such as shift and addition to make the implicit logic dominant.Through the translation practice,the translator has gained a certain understanding of the financial development history of some countries and the implicit logic,as well as improved translation skills.It is hoped that the report can provide some reference for translators working on financial texts. |
