| Middle school students are at a critical stage of their physical and mental development.In order to understand the current situation of test anxiety,explore the applicability of the relationship between emotional intelligence,mental toughness and test anxiety in junior high school students,and explore effective interventions,this study was conducted with 776 students as the research subjects,mainly using survey method,quasi-experimental method and interview method to investigate the current situation and interventions,and then using SPSS26.0 and AMOS26.0 system to for data analysis.This study is divided into three parts.Study 1 used the Test Anxiety Scale TAS to investigate and analyze the current status of test anxiety of the subjects;Study 2 used the Test Anxiety Scale TAS,the Emotional Intelligence Scale for Secondary School Students EIS,and the Mental Toughness Scale for Adolescents to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence,mental toughness,and test anxiety;Study 3,based on Study 1 and 2,designed a group counseling program with the goal of reducing the test anxiety level of junior high school students and the core of mental toughness enhancement and implemented a 2-month(1 time per week)intervention.Study 3,based on Study 1 and 2,designed a group counseling program with the goal of reducing the level of test anxiety among junior high school students,and implemented a 2-month(1 time per week,90 min each time)intervention.A cross-sectional longitudinal comparison between the experimental and control groups was conducted after the interv ention with pre and post-tests,and their effects were evaluated in conjunction with a gro up activity feedback form.The results of this study were as follows:(1)The average test anxiety score of junior high school students in this school is17.54,and their anxiety level is at the upper middle level.(2)There are significant differences in test anxiety among junior high school students in terms of gender and grade level,among which the test anxiety level of girls is significantly higher than that of boys,and the higher the grade level,the higher the test anxiety level;there are no significant differences in the nature of household registration,whether they are only children or not,and parents’ education level.(3)Emotional intelligence was negatively correlated with test anxiety;mental toughness was negatively correlated with test anxiety;emotional intelligence was positively correlated with mental toughness among junior high school students in this school.(4)Mental toughness plays a part in mediating the relationship between emotional intelligence and test anxiety in junior high school students.(5)Mental toughness as the core group counseling has an intervention effect on reducing the test anxiety level of junior high school students.In conclusion,attention needs to be drawn to the test anxiety status of higher grades(eighth and ninth grades)and girls,and to the influence of individual emotional intelligence and mental toughness on test anxiety.Among them,intervention programs to alleviate test anxiety in junior high school students can be designed focusing on positive cognition,emotional control,goal focus,and interpersonal assistance dimensions. |
