A Report On E-C Translation Of The Scientific Articles In The Field Of Communication Under The Guidance Of Skopos Theory

In recent years,the continuous development of communication technology has become a significant driving force for the growth of the information industry and social economy.Transforming people’s way of life,accelerating its integration into the real economy,and empowering industry digital transformation through fusion applications,communication technology injects robust impetus into high-quality economic and social development.In order to better help technical learners and researchers in the field of communication to understand the technological frontier and development trends,the translator selected and translated 20 papers from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE),a top journal in the field of communication research,with a total 70,000 words,among which 20,000 words were selected for the report.The academic communication papers are formal,concise,and precise,emphasizing professionalism and logical rigor.Guided by the three rule of Skopos theory,the translator analyzes texts at the lexical,syntactic,and discourse levels to ensure coherence,fidelity,and teleological accuracy.At the lexical level,specialized vocabulary and abbreviations often occur in the communication field,and due to differences between Chinese and English languages,the translator employs techniques such as literal translation,zero translation,conversion of part of speech,and addition to accurately convey the source text.At the syntactic level,due to complex sentence structures and passive voice constructions,the translator uses conversion of voice,division,and inversion techniques to ensure fluent and rigorous sentences.At the textual level,logical structure problems resulting from differences between Chinese and English languages are tackled by using techniques such as addition and omission,to achieve logical and rigorous discourse and enhance readability of the translation.Through this translation practice,Skopos theory is applied to specific translation of communication academic texts,which can effectively guide translators to choose appropriate translation techniques and methods,accurately express the language characteristics of scientific and technical texts.Hence,the translation quality is improved and better reference is provided for the technical learners and researchers in the field of communication.
